We already have the Scarab Occult Terminator, the Deathshroud Terminator and the Blightlord Terminator from the Tzeentch and Nurgle legions respectively.
What do you imagine would be the next model line realised ? And more amusingly: which name would you give them ?

For the Korn one, all that is blood and skull has been extensively utilized by Deamons and the Blades of Korn over in AOS. So I'd go for something brass for the world eaters. Brass Effigy ? Or butchers something.

For Slanesh/ Emperor's Children... something discordant ? Cacophony spelled with a K ?

The obvious bet would be on the Red Butchers for the World Eaters (who rumours suggest will be the next cult to get fleshed out). They've already got 30k models, and the Faith & Fury rules gave WE players the ability to upgrade a unit of Terminators into Red Butchers using a stratagem. Hopefully they just keep the existing name but it might end up being the Bloodforged Slaughterborn or w/e.

For the EC, I'm hoping for Noise Marine Terminators ala IA/3.5. I've wanted to have Terminators with sonic weapons since I was a kid. Wouldn't complain if they just received heavily warped versions of their Phoenix Terminators from 30k though, those models are gorgeous.

What would be cool is for Emperor's Children to get both the Blade Master type Terminators and the Noise Marine ones, akin to how Deathguard have Blightlords and Deathshroud. I'd love to see a unit of terminators for EC with glaives or other melee weapon and some sort of precise weapon letting them pick out characters. Limit their unit size and have them be almost like Allarus Terminators.

I am curious, if you were to write up a supplement to T-Sons, and give them a second Terminator type, how would you do it. One of the things I've noticed in both of the released Cult Legions in a lack of Marine infantry variety in regular Power Armor, discounting all the characters you can mix in, for Death Guard its mostly in your Daemon Engines and in T-Sons you only have 2 Rubricae units. If GW is gonna split them off from the mainline, they could at least churn out another pair (assuming 1 each) of regular Power Armor squads.

I'd personally love to see a small 3-6 T-Sons unit of Sorcerer Terminators who's stick is being very psychically potent, essentially a unit of Aspiring Sorcerors, armed to rip things apart in melee and with psychics.

Funny you say that ! Personally I'd go the other direction for a new TS terminator unit.
Since we already have way more then enough casting potential potential with all of our HQ I'd make them ultra-resilient to play on the unfeeling automata aspect of the Rubrication.

Imagine: a unit of Termies, so wear down by millennia of war that whole chunks of their armours are missing, most of their ashes scattered to the winds but their soul still linked to their armours.
They'd have a special rule of all is dust (5+++ fnd against damage 1/2 ?) and even more movement then all other Termies as they shamble into the warp before re-emerging into real-space (kind of like warp spiders ?).
Maybe giving them a worst WS to compensate for a better staying power in melee (something we direly need). I think It'd be a really cool take on the TS ! Pretty tragic too if you think about it !

I also really agree with you on the Noise Terminator/ Duelist Terminator dichotomy for the EC. It'd be very cool ! I imagine for them a melee weapon with a ranged profile, not unlike Lucius's lash. Accompanied by heavy doom sirens of course !

Keeping the hobby side alive!

Legit Chosen Terminators/Bringers of Despair would be awesome to see.

I feel like Mutilators fill the Possessed Terminator archetype already. If only they were worth taking...

I'd liken Mutilators to be more akin to assault Centurions, heavy hitting, durable and a step above Terminators in terms of size. Akin to how Obliterators are a counterpart to Devastator Centurions, even with some of the new ones sharing toes with them. It helps to draw parallels between the two armies and establish, hey here's what happened to some of the Loyalist Centurions, and if you wanted to get creative, have that be only way to become a Mutilator, have another be a possessed Terminator who swells with Warp Power beyond his original stature to something far larger then a Terminator. Make it into a catchall for Giant CSM Possessed Marine, so they are different from Obliterators.

What I kinda envisioned back in 7th was if Warp Talons were akin to Warp based Pursuit Predators, have Mutilators be Ambush predators, with an ability to intercept deep strikers and get a chance to charge them, akin to how Death Marks can pop up and shoot a unit when that unit drops from deepstrike or reserves.

It is a niche, that to my knowledge CSM don't have filled and it could be filled.

If Slaanesh was to have Chaos Terminators (Lord Discordant or something like that), they would have to have heavy sonic weapons and be the specialized in range combat. I would not but elite swordsmen in Terminator armors, they look to cumbersome for swift Slaaneshi fighter type. These ones (Screaming Blades?) should be in regular or even stripped down power armor.

For Khorne, terminator armors fits quite well either with a pair of light weapons like lightning claws or spiked cestus or with a large two handed-weapon like a massive axe/sword or a Witch King sort of flail.

On another note updating Mutilator is necessary, these models are ugly as sin and obliterator really need to be released in their own box set. Frankly power armored Chosen would also be desirable.

I disagree on the EC point. Although I think there definitely should be a EC terminator with sonic weapons I actually think EC would be a fast attack close combat army. Suits their fluff

Definitely Red Butchers.

Their background is really cool. They’re basically Astartes driven completely insane by the Butcher’s Nails, who can never stop fighting.

Their Terminator armour has a remote shut off, and they’re kept chained up, dangling from the ceiling when not required for battle.

I'm not expecting anything new as it's not an SM release, but we have a fair bit to choose from:

- EC Phoenix Guard
- IW Siege Terminators
- WE Red Butchers
- SoH/BL Justarean
- NL Contekar
- AL Lernaean

Those are just the Forge World ones, we could have something entirely new. If I had to make an educated guess however it'd likely be either EC or WE. I doubt the other Legions are selling enough to warrant being the face of the new book.

Chaos, especially at the time of being split off for the legions into individual books, tend to get hefty releases and are rumoured to get more.

Double necked weapons with 6 string and 12 string modes of fire.

All i know is slaanesh terminators have to be based on the original RT/2nd ed terminator sculpts, but with just TONS OF AMPS in that chonky frame.

"Got you, Yugi! Your Rubric Marines can't fall back because I have declared the tertiary kaptaris ka'tah stance two, after the secondary dacatarai ka'tah last turn!"

"So you think, Kaiba! I declared my Thousand Sons the cult of Duplicity, which means all my psykers have access to the Sorcerous Facade power! Furthermore I will spend 8 Cabal Points to invoke Cabbalistic Focus, causing the rubrics to appear behind your custodes! The Vengeance for the Wronged and Sorcerous Fullisade stratagems along with the Malefic Maelstrom infernal pact evoked earlier in the command phase allows me to double their firepower, letting me wound on 2s and 3s!"

"you think it is you who has gotten me, yugi, but it is I who have gotten you! I declare the ever-vigilant stratagem to attack your rubrics with my custodes' ranged weapons, which with the new codex are now DAMAGE 2!!"

"...which leads you straight into my trap, Kaiba, you see I now declare the stratagem Implacable Automata, reducing all damage from your attacks by 1 and triggering my All is Dust special rule!"

It might be nice to use an Emperor's Children line to bulk out all six aspects of Slaanesh, not just the dicks and noise.

Nah, slaanesh must forever stay the chaos god of gay panic.

The four causes of destruction and ruin: violence, disease, um....wizards....people who do anything but scheduled weekly missionary....I'm running out of ideas so I guess that's the four.

Dang, shouldn't have lumped all violence into just one.

Agreed ! There is definitely room for all of the excesses in an EC army ! But I'd imagine all wouldn't match the "big blocky juggernaut" aesthetic of the Terminator. Gluttony would work well though ! Multiple long tongues escaping the armour, wide maws full of twisted teeth all over !
