Some of you may recall that I had made a tool to make it easier to research stratagems, FAQs, and the like a ways back. I had dropped it when 9th hit to give time to understand where things were headed. And so, finally I've been able to find time to pick this up again.

The idea is to query a number of different ways to find what your opponent can do and when. So, I could check what AdMech can do in the shooting phase and see something like this:

Or if I wanted to know what buffs were available to an Ironstrider Ballistarii you might see this:

Obviously this is straight unformatted database output so it won't look pretty and I do not have much loaded yet, but I intend to have relevant relics, traits, doctrines, etc.

You will also notice that I am not giving the full rules. I want to give the most pertinent info that you might make decisions on without having to spend time reading the whole rule.

Do you feel like this is enough info to make good decisions? Why or why not? What would you change?

"Increase characteristic" might be a bit too generic, "Increase melee/ranged offense or defense" would give someone who doesn't have a clue about admech a better idea of what that stratagem does.

I'd also do "ANY" for phase when it applies.

7 Ork facts people always get wrong:
Ragnar did not win against Thrakka, but suffered two crushing defeats within a few days of each other.
A lasgun is powerful enough to sever an ork's appendage or head in a single, well aimed shot.
Orks meks have a better understanding of electrics and mechanics than most Tech Priests.
Orks do not think that purple makes them harder to see. They do think that camouflage does however, without knowing why.
Gharkull Blackfang did not even come close to killing the emperor.
Orks can be corrupted by chaos, but few of them have any interest in what chaos offers.
Orks do not have the power of believe.

Hmm. I could condense it to 'ANY' - I'll work on that. Offense and defense is a good idea, too - thanks!

Perhaps knowing what characteristic is increased/changed would help as well - for defense, is it save or toughness? Increasing toughness may not affect the particular weapon I am using, while increasing SV may - or visa versa.

Same for offence. +1 strength is far less impactful than +1 to-wound. Similarly, +1 damage is worth knowing sometimes but not other times (e.g. when shooting at 1 wound models).

Plus, knowing what value an "explosion" occurs on is important - something exploding on unmodified 6s is much harder to interfere with than something exploding on a 6+ (or 5+).

Really just greater specificity in general.

Ok I'll try and build that out. I'm going to run through the whole AdMech book first so I can catch all the oddities there and re-assess.
