The chaplain dreandought is very cool. I could easaly do a good kitbash of the old Forge World one with a venerable dread and some scourge wings. (The old chaplain dread had wings on the side.)

However, it is no longer available on the Forge World website. How long will the Chaplain dread stick around?

The chaplain dread model will not be back as it has been moved to legends - this means that you can use it in friendly games but the rules are not being upkept so it isn't legal for tournaments.

Nothing saying you can't just run it as a Venerable however.

In terms of the availability, can't say. Quite often FW items are branded as "No longer available" when they're just out of stock or waiting for new moulds.

Them being legends now(by definition OOP models) kinda gives indication old model ain't coming back. Only way would be for new version of model come.

Not really. The Gorgon, Stormhammer and Stormblade are all in stock despite being Legend-ed.

All of those units exist in 30k which is why they are still sold.

It's a Marine model. GW could easily produce a new Version in plastic when they're bored.

That's because there is game those are used atm in tournaments.

Chaplain dread has zero games that support rules.

It has nothing to do with tournaments, it's because Solar Auxilia and Cults/Militia have those units in their army lists.

I run mine as a Death Company dread.

I blame the tourney cheesehammer meta for killing the model, it became spam and GW had to legend it. If the abuse hadn't been so severe, it might have just gotten a nerf in the recent codices..

Or, FW got rid of all the Mk4 Dreadnoughts at the same time because the Contemptor range was being expanded and the Mk4s didn't sell as well anymore.

I did not know that it had legend rules. I thought it was stil around in the rules.

I found it in an online registry. I do not actually own any of the newer forge world book.

It is possible that they will at some point do "character" dreads at some point in redemptor or *[new pattern] dreads. So they might come back primaries style.

Yeah.
That also explains why they Legended the Chaplain on Bike.

Wait. What?

I could actually see a special Black Templar version getting added with the new codex supplement. Probably have either a plastic kit release or just an add on to convert other dreads.

Or not, obviously... but I could see it.
