Has anyone ever painted something to look like duct tape? How would you go about it? Metallics? A few grey colours? Both?

Ask yourself: have you rated a gallery image today?

Grey with just a touch of metallic is how I'd do it.

Honestly, depends on what you want out of it. The way I see it, you either do a NMM or a TMM.

If you go the NMM route, a simple grey with a dash of blue or green would do well for a base and then just highlight accordingly.

If you go TMM start with bright silver and add inks and other translucent effects for the shades and reflections. Then add some accent highlights like pastel white or blue for your lights.

All in all, have fun and enjoy the whole process.

But duct tape generally isn't bright silver. It's bluish or greenish grey with a TINY bit of metallic highlight.

Unless you get the bright silver reflective stuff, but that silver wears off FAST to reveal the white underneath...
