I use to use the old app a lot, and owned most of my Battletombs on it, but I noticed they made a new app and that it was made after the new 40K one……why? I can only assume it was so people would stop comparing the 40K app to the good AoS app, but what was the official reason?

Well they haven't given official reason but for one it makes sense logistically. Why pay for 2 program when you can pay for one and bit more. It's easier to maintain one code with 2 data base than maintain two unique ones.
