Imperial Guard: Special Forces: does the mission action that is going to have its AP reduced for that turning point need to be specified when the ploy is used or can each operative do a different mission action at the reduced AP cost?

Ecclesiarchy: Penance Through Death: when the extra die is rolled, does the operative need to be considered as injured (and therefore have its WS worsened by one)?

Craftworld: First of the Aspects: can this actually give a Dire Avenger an extra action? The recent FAQ clarified that an operative's AP are generated when its order is determined at the beginning of its activation. The ploy states it is used "during a friendly DIRE AVENGER operative's activation." Can it be used at the beginning of the operative's activation to give it an extra action or is there no point in the sequence where that is possible? This seems more of a question of intent. Is it supposed to give Dire Avengers extra actions or just make it easier for them to capture objectives?

1: yes, as the ploy reads "select the Pick Up action or one mission action...". You announce what you want to have reduced and can then do that for cheaper through the whole round.

2: yes, unless they have some rules that mean they aren't counted as Injured (like Disgusting Resilience). In this case, they most likely would be injured.

3: This one is murkier in intent. RAW, because it is used during the activation, it will not give any benefit for that activation nor carry over due to how modifying characteristics works; "If an operative’s APL is modified, it lasts until the end of its current or next activation (whichever comes first)." The intention has probably been to give the model +1 APL for that activation, which is how I'd play that ability to have it make any sense.

There are some odd pieces of writing interactions in the rules and their clarifying FAQs, like how Veteran Guardsmen have a specialist skill for hitting on 2+ in melee if they use their version of "not yet dead" but the FAQ says any such operatives cannot resolve any dice in combat... That's what you get for having multiple writers doing their thing at different times.

1: I agree, but I had a disagreement with a Scion player and wanted some external validation.

2: That seems like a natural conclusion, but I was thinking about the fight sequence: as an operative loses wounds it doesn't have to change some of its successful hit rolls to misses because it becomes injured. I was wondering if something like that might apply because it says "as if it is fighting in combat." But I suppose the original fight sequence ends when the operative is incapacitated and this "as if" combat would be with the operative having zero wounds. It's not a trivial difference, either. For a Repentia it takes the chance of success from 50% to 33%.

3: Since an APL modifier ends when the operative's activation ends this ploy is either almost useless and could only be used to allow a Dire Avenger to wrest control of an objective from a 2APL operative and then do an action on the objective, but only if that enemy operative hadn't already done the action him/herself, or it can be used at the beginning of an activation to give a Dire Avenger an extra action. I agree in leaning toward the latter. Craftworlds need all the help they can get anyway.

The thing about being injured during a fight is that you don't pick the dice after the hitting starts. You retain hits before any damage is dealt, so you becoming injured midst the Resolve step makes no difference. This is not so if you are instructed to fight again, since the dice are rolled anew and your condition checks out worse this time around.
