Anyone have experience with using Beast Snaggas? I don't really see any lists or battle reports that feature them. I want to make a squig-themed list (hardly meta...) but have a few issues.
I already have tons of models, so that is not a problem.
General approach:
Beastboss on squigasaur (warlord)
2 units of 3 squighog boyz
2 Nobz on Squigs
2 rukkatruck Squigbuggies
Squiggoth with Flash Gitz on board (targeting squig!)
Killrig with Beastsnaggas on board
Troops choices would be more mobs of 10 beastsnaggas.
This totals less than 2000 pts.
Issues:
Not much shooting in this list, so hard to reduce units before melee.
Very little high AP damage. Every opponent as access to stratagems/etc that reduce AP, so AP -2 ends up -1, reducing wounds inflicted.
Worth adding ShokkJump buggy (another targeting squig)?
What about putting some of the beastsnaggas in a trukk with a BeastBoss and PainBoss?
Okay you have a kill rig which is great out of sight shooting and a wurrboy what powers you gonna run on him ?
Squighogs hit harder than biker mobz especially running with warlord on squig and using beast gob warlord trait
Pick a clan ..I would say snakebites in this case
very fast melee army will be able to do turn one charge easy
You have a ton of points for more shooty units
I see you heading for a theme thou soo ..I will suggest two shokk jumpo buggies and possibly a second squigoth with flashgitz ..or a second kill rig and ride more of the snagga boyz
Trukk aint gonna help and looks like you can get everything in a battalion
Hmmn mabey a flying squig conversion to a wazbom..?
I used Frazzle and Spirit of Gork on the Wurrboy to max melee attacks, but the Wurrboy is very short range.. I ran as Goffs to max attacks and get the exploding 6s.
I was thinking the trukk as just a cheap distraction unit, since the squighog boyz attract a lot of fire.
I had Brutal but Kunnin on the beastboss on Squigasaur - he killed Celestine (Sisters) despite being charged by her - but of course she just reincarnates on a 2+.
I can switch to snakebites, that would fit the theme.
I want to keep the vehicle count down simply because the d#mn bases are so big it is hard to deploy.
Maybe work some tankbustas with bomb squigs into the list?
Thx.
I threw together a list of what I would run if I wanted to go all in on Squig units, keeping the Squiggoth/Flash Git combo you went with. It pretty much has everything that you listed in the OP but just doubles down on everything. It still has the issue of basically having no shooting outside of the Flash Gitz and the Rukkatrukks though.
This is very close to what I am thinking. I took more beastsnagga boyz to claim objectives. My prior game was against Sisters, and my list lacked any way to kill vehicles - my opponent (more skilled than I)- had paragon warsuits he screened from melee, so they could shoot with impunity. Now I am leaning toward 5 tankbustas and 5 flash gitz in the squiggoth. I only have the one killrig at the moment.
Still painting up some of these models.
