This has become a sort of tradition of mine. For the last few years around about the holiday season, I've gotten inspired to do conversions of surplus 40k minis/bits into Christmas decorations.

Here's the one that started it all. I got the idea from a few other "Santa Ork" conversions I'd seen, and since I had extra runtherds (as does anyone with more than 10 grots) I made my own.

It wasn't until the next year that I decided I should get a teeny Christmas tree and start being a teeny bit festive. Hence the Christmas tree genestealer. Treestealer? After I finished it I realized he kinda resembles a Grinch...

Finally, when GW issued their paper Sanguinius last year, I thought to myself, "self, that's pretty funny, but we can go one further."

There are those who might say, "that doesn't look like Sanguinius." And I understand where such confusion comes from--he doesn't have a tree up his backside in this pic.
