I think I have been playing these wrong and am looking for confirmation.

Drop pod hits the table, passengers disembark 3" then take their normal movement (6") meaning they end the movement phase anywhere within 9" of the pod.

Going over some rules the other day and it looks like you don't get to move after disembarking.

Can anyone confirm/deny?

"Units that disembark can then act normally" P.12 PDF 40k Rules.

Nothing in the Drop Pod's entry restricts this that I can see.

What rule were you looking at that made you think "it looks like you don't get to move after disembarking."?

Pods arrive in the Reinforcements step of the phase. This is *after* you have moved all your models. There is no rule for the 9th edition pod to restrict passenger movement because there is no need. The order of operation prevents it.

There it is.

So since the movement phase is over, you can not move your models from a transport that comes in from reserve (Barring any FAQ of course).

I'm not sure of chaos should use drop pods when it has iron termites which are pretty effective. I just watched a batrep where they use pretty useful even tho the CSM lost.

There was similar wording in 8th edition for Kharbydis Asault Claws. They arrived at the end of the movement phase, thus the occupants would not have an opportunity to move.

Despite my best rhetoric, I was unable to convince anyone this meant disembarked troops had the ability to move. I assume the same applies to drop pods - using 2 with my Deathwatch currently and playing them that way.
