Hi fellas,

need input on two situations from last game - first up is a deathskull squad with bomb squigs: can the bomb squig roll be re-rolled using the clan special ability, or can the command point re-roll be used? (as in doesn't specify it is an attack roll ... it is a "realease" ) ???

And second up: death guard Stinky McStinkinson (Foul blightspawn) with some kind a relic (forgot the name) has the aura ability to make charging units "not charged". Does this only affect the order of fighting, or does it also affect special MW dealing abilities (i.e. on a 2+ deal D3 mortal wounds to a unit within engagement range)???

Its not an attack roll, so you cannot use the command point reroll. The deathskullz reroll cant be used either, its neither a hit roll, nor a wound roll.

The FBS doesnt make a charging unit "not charged". That unit isnt eligible to fight until all other units from the DG army have done so. Big difference. It only affects the order of fighting. And you cannot use counter offensive stratagem on that unit.

Lemme just quote a section from the relic description so everyone interested can chip in: "...never counts as having made a charge this turn, irrespective on any abilities that unit may have."

I guess the one you are referring to is just the Foul Blightspawn ability that enables it select one enemy unit to fight last.

I mean, I charged with units that deal MWs on a charge...and nothing, thay even got hit in the face for their efforts.

Right, i was referring to the FBS ability, i didnt consider the relic. Next time please quote the relevant rules.

REVOLTING STENCH-VATS
‘Revolting Stench (Aura): While an enemy unit is within 6" of the bearer, that unit cannot make use of any rules that allow it to fight first and never counts as having made a charge move this turn, irrespective of any abilities that unit may have.’


Spiked Ram: After this unit makes a charge move, you can select one enemy unit within 1" of it and roll one D6 for each model this unit contains; for each roll of 4+, that enemy unit suffers D3 mortal wounds.


Spiked ram wouldnt trigger, because the relic says that the unit never counts as having made a charge move, making a charge move is required to roll for those MWs.

Bomb Squiq is a special rule, not a weapon and not a shooting attack. It doesn't make a Hit Roll, so you cannot use any rule that allows you to re-roll a hit roll to re-roll the roll to see if a Bomb Squig inflict Mortal Wounds on an enemy unit.

just had to double-check because rolling four 1's on the Bomb squigs cost me the game, IMO
