As Big Boss Gobsmacked eyed the battlefield he was surprised, as an Astartes Thunderhawk, blew one of his Stompas to pieces. He was not happy to say the least and a handy Gretchen bore the brunt of his displeasure. Then the ship flew low over the field, strafing hapless orks as it went. Finally, touching down deep behind the ork lines and disembarking a wave of Imperial Marines, who would lay wast to the surrounding boys. Gobsmacked walked over to his chief mek Biged Fixerruppu who had also witnessed these events and in a low growel said “Biged I want one of dem, and I want it soon.”

This is the backstory for my latest project the Thunderork.

Glorious. I like how well the Rhino fits at the front, and the x-wing wings scale well

Thanks the long connecting section is the chassis of a truck toy, was just the perfect fit. Waiting on a old pattern Baal Pred and and current Land Raider I just bought for more dakka and bitz, the Pred body will finish of the rear using the tracks of the Rhino and Pred as the landing gear. Still needs a tail and bitz, lots more gubbins and dakka, oh and lots of rivets.

Biged has been busy adding more dakka and gubinzes to the ThunderOrk, he's waitin on the boys to bring him another beaky tank to stick at the back, hopefully before Gobsmacker gets to impatient and delivers him a kickin.

Nother quick update on da ThunderOrk, still addin dakka, still waitin on some Beaky tanks to show up to finish it of so I can add the rest of the gubinzes and rivet some extra armour plate on so it looks propper Orky. Gave it a quick primer coat to bring it into scale and unite the various elements, any feedback and constructive critisism is welcome. Sorry about the spellin and gramma, at school they said I was dislexic, but I shoulda just tolds em I was an Ork, now I'm free from the spell and grammer check, HA!

Gork'd be proud

"At the point in time when bullets can pass through the interdimensional walls. When firepower takes up the entirety and eternity of space and time, all beings stuck in a neverending life and death cycle as bullets recover and destroy their bodies in quick succession. No one is able to think about anything but the sheer force of the bullets rapidly flying literally everywhere in the materium turning the warp itself into nothing but a sea of semi-automatic weaponry.. Then there will be enough dakka. Or, at least almost." -The Glorious God Emperor of Mankind

Great build and backstory! The primer really pulls it all together and hides most of the original none miniature bits well. The pens could do with a few more gubbins imho. I’d also like to see the piece above the rhino be built out to the rhinos width, otherwise it looks a bit like the rhino is towing a trailer fifth wheel style. Just some panels between the two would do it I reckon. Pointing some of the guns down, especially the lascannons at the front, might help sell it as a flyer too? Keep at it, it’s an awesome idea!

Thanks all for you comments and feedback, Gobert I see your point although the angle of the photos does make it look worse than it is, but I will look into it, and the front zzap guns do swivel on their mounts. And more fins are on the missiles, some details yet to come.

Three steps forward two steps back but progress continues. Yes the missiles need fins added and broken will be added again, why does life keep getting in the way of my hobbies, sigh.
