I was just present with a lovey advert for both Ultramarine and Chaos (generic) bathrobes and I just thought……… that’s not for me.

But whom is it for, I’m genuinely interested as I am not a paraphernalia type of person. I play guitar (humble brag) but I don’t like guitar shaped ornaments or fender t-shirts.

It’s not a criticism, I’m just seeing more and more of this non game or story merch (I think I have seen 40K scented candles) and I’m genuinely interested to see if it’s actually being purchased.

Not strictly 40k, but I've bought 5 or so of the Skaven/ Vermintide T-Shirts, cause they've got a nice style, and I like the game/army, and they don't have anything questionable like winged skulls or two-headed aquilas that might get me confronted by people on the street mistaking them for other things.

I think I've bought one of those Drukhari face masks and a Dark Angel beer mug.

That's about it.

I don't think I've ever bought any.

A Slaanesh scented candle is somewhat disturbing, but perhaps not so much as a Nurgle one would be.

The obvious, and dangerous question of, what DOES the slaanesh candel smell like?

Lavender or something similar IIRC.

How disappointing.

I expected something at least a little more sinister. Maybe sandalwood.

I’ve bought my younger son an Orky Deff-cision shirt he loves, and I wouldn’t mind, say, a green T-shirt with the Dark Angels logo.

Do the McFarlane figures count? I’ve picked up a couple marines (and a necron) for myself and my son of those.

One of my sons wanted to get me a 40K Funko figure, but I made it clear in no uncertain terms that I hate those figures.

It never ends well

I'm not going to lie, the temptation to get the Chaos robe and just wear it all the time is veeeeery strong. Answering the door in it would without a doubt be very entertaining.

Coffee mugs (tea mugs) I understood because you need them to drink your coffee (tea) and they need something on them so they don’t get confused with someone else’s coffee mug (tea mug)

It might be great if the person at the door knows what 40K is otherwise they will think you have an odd taste in bathrobes (dressing gowns)

You could get a Slaanesh bath robe and answer the door wearing nothing at all.

I'd honestly be tempted by a Tyranid Christmas Jumper! Or shove it on a Christmas list or such .

The fact that they do not have a Tyranid Christmas Jumper is criminal! The lack of a Slaanesh one (featuring a fiend) is also even more criminal after the fiend after from a few years back

Maybe a golden throne? A stool fit for the emperor? With a tunnel to the warp beneath it, holding back all the putrid mass of all things counter to humanity? Ok, time for a remodel.

Virtually none

Long long ago (3e days) I had both a SW & an Armageddon T-shirt.
They're both long gone.

Maybe someday McFarlane or someone will make an action figure that strikes my fancy.

None. Given GW's approach to product licensing in the video game space I've assumed that they'll be similarly concerned with quantity over quality in the merchandising space, and the merchandise will be useless for its intended purpose.

(As to the decorative stuff like the funkopops I don't get why I'd buy that instead of just buying models.)

Balanced Game: Noun. A game in which all options and choices are worth using.

Are you saying a mechanicus candle won’t smell like the depths of a forge world?

If I could get enough of them cheap enough & there was more than just a few SM? It'd make for a novel KT game to run at cons.

I'm saying that it'll be more expensive, not smell as nice, and probably have some other technical failings when compared to a non-GW-branded scented candle.

That'd be very funny. If they made them in sufficient loadouts. And if they weren't so expensive. Which they don't. So I buy models I can play games with instead of models I can't play games with.

Thanks Gert - bit of a shame the various SM Chapter masks are based of an Intercessor, rather than the traditional Mk VII helmet, but there you go.

The MacFarlane figures, Koyo Pins and those discount boxes Half Moon Bay did around this time last year.

Also, I guess it counts, various bags and that from GW promotions. The joys of doing Big Loots at store Anniversaries.

Gathering the Informations.

I've bought very little of it myself but have had a few shirts sent my way by family/friends for Christmas or birthdays.

I have a really, really, really nice Raven Guard long-sleeve that I love. I stopped wearing my Guard t-shirt that has the winged skull after 2016 and seeing it getting coopted by a certain brand of twerps in the political sphere.

I did buy my youngest brother a set of the Red Gobbo socks this year. It was part of a two-part gift, as I bought him the novella and the socks. He wasn't interested in the model this year surprisingly.
