Come on folks, bit quiet here for such a nice round? Guess it's my turn for a comment marathon, then:
KidCthulhu - I like how very 'urban' these look, with the basing and the somehow regal colours! Feel more like corrupted gentry than br00tal barbarians from the wastes, interesting.
Turaxa - Given my Dakka account name I ... very much approve of this mighty war machine.
Pariah Press - One of my favourites this round, such characterful minis & the no-nonsense paintjob both ties them together and stresses their individual personalities!
Freya - Top blending & colour choices here, deserved win! Particularily like how distinct the different bluish/purplish materials work out.
Nevelon - Those guys really mean business, don't they. Good clean paintjob and very effective snow basing!
Mothsniper - Super interesing colour choices & bases, very convincing in their alien-ness, especially the blue glow & the Ravener's carapace
Mr Nobody - That's just glorious - heroic with bright & clean colours while still subtly grimdark, what with the nasty claws & mud base etc
the_balloon_dog - This one has lived & seen things, obviously - great skin colours & the downcast eyes add to the atmosphere
DV8 - great as usual, actually the skin on the tentacles stealing the show from 'Stephen' himself, somehow
JoshInJapan - Now these are fun minis - and a fitting retro colour scheme but with 'modern' effects!
Captain Brown - Getting major 2000AD vibes ... so many (disturbing) details to find here
ShadowsAndDust - Nice classic colours and some good use of gloss/blood effects! Good base, too.
theCrowe - I love those, so adorable! Even though the Witch Hunter is maybe not *really* adorable, the eyes look like they're silently judging me, hmm
Ezki - wrote in your other thread already, the weathering & materiality is perfect!
Flinty - Interesting model & made even more interesting through the
OSL. Wonder how this would look with a different, darker lighting setup for the photo, but might be difficult to pull of without losing detail ...
E3DD - I like the bright cartoony colours in contrast with the moody alien bases - the orange/white armour makes it look even a bit more like the strange cargo cult outfits from Horizon Zero Dawn
ms07b3 - That face is just sooo good. Really captures the slightly comical earnestness of Ultramarines!
darktt - Great conversions & great attention to different textures and materials, classic grotesque Chaos like straight from the
RT era ^^
Jamie Shred - strange, interesting mini, you captured the brutality very well through the weathering on the various metals
Viterbi - I like how you add extra attention for detail & atmosphere (the blood and magazines) to the clear cartoon paint schemes! Great terrain, too.
Paradigm - Ooooh yes, peak grimdark. He looks as he's been wading 24/7 through muck and corpses, which is exactly what I'm envisioning him to do as soon as SM2 comes out
Vejut - I always think you must have the most fun mini collection on all Dakka, no exception here ^^ Like the transitions between bluish fur and pink skin a lot.
Midget Gems - Heh! Fittingliy gaudy scheme for a wacky mini. I like the darker squig skin + green Christmas lights cable much more than the
GW colours.
Gulgog TufToof - checked out your finished Boys, that's a really clever, striking colour scheme with the gold on blue & white!
Maharg - already wrote in the other thread, great skin tones and great stripey pants ^^
DJJazzyJeff - That's some interesing
OSL and great slime here, making him look both very nasty and very powerful, with the ominous lighting from below
MobileSuitRandom - This was a strange experience, spent hours and hours painting & being sure that she's a total mess, then spent 15 minutes adding some off-colour shading and washes and suddenly everything seemed to make sense, huh. Thanks for the votes!
