So today I was at my FLGS, and heard some guys playing in the back. I knew one was playing Custodes, because I heard him mention he was firing his Obliteratum directly into the face of his opponent's character. He must have landed the hit, because he say "I have a message from the Emperor." The other goes, Cease and Desist? And he responded, "Cease to Exist!" It was a pretty epic line after killing a character, so it got me thinking,

Has anyone here ever heard of or used an especially great one liner after pulling something amazing off?

I love to hear the story, and the line!

The first GW game I ever played was Space Hulk- would have been 89 or 90.

My buddy had a 3d board- he had cemented shower tiles onto plywood without grouting them so that we could jam corrugated cardboard into the gaps where grout was supposed to go.

In the game, one of the hybrids took out a Terminator Sergeant on a supper lucky shot.

After the game, the player grafittied one of the walls in red "Marine blood" with the phrase "Chitter Chitter, I got the Sarge!"

The line itself? Not fantastic.

But that wall was used in 100's of games- some of them at conventions, with dozens if not 100's of players- and everyone who saw it had to ask for the story and got a kick out of it.

For a while after that, my group would say Chitter Chitter I got the Sarge everytime we managed to succeed unexpectedly at a difficult task.

I still comes up in conversation occasionally even 30 years later.

I don't know if I just have an odd group, but I hear a lot of comic understatement (things like "that went well.") after big plays, more than action-movie one-liners.

Balanced Game: Noun. A game in which all options and choices are worth using.
