I know it's not proper form to discuss rules before they're released, but given as this is a proper leak it's already in print,

Alternating Fusion Blaster wrote:Each time an attack is made with this weapon, if a hit is scored, draw a straight line between the closest point of this model's base [or hull] and that that of the closest model in the target's unit. Make one wound roll against the target unit and each other unit this line passes over

So what if this line passes over units locked in combat, do they take the hit as well given that they're not being targeted by a ranged attack specifically? Additionally could I setup the line to pass over one of my own units, try to kill them so I can then shoot up the now-unengaged enemy unit?

Probably be FAQ'ed soon, but has any precedent been set with similar weapons such as the Lantern?

You are restricted from targeting enemy units that are in Engagement Range with friendly units. This rule does not instruct you to target units, but rather simply causes wounds against them.

Looks like you could also hit friendly units with this weapon, for that matter.

Yeah, it just causes a wound roll. No hits, no attacks, friend and foe.
