So right before the model ppm increase released I had bought most of this death guard list. I’ve decided that I’m going to see if I can win any games against mid- top tier RTTs lists locally and possibly some GTs. I’m back and brushing off the brain dust as I’ve been gone 5+ years. I plan to repaint pre painted figures I’m receiving, and be using an emperors children dark purple theme armor. I also plan to paint squads different skin tones to differentiate. Main focus will be reading all the available rules and learning the game again, mostly through tournaments and hopefully get some local practice games. This is week 3 of learning, building and painting.

Dug out my 9 obliteraters that cannot be used in tournaments due to new models. I took ORk choppas and terminators combi bolters. I will save these as spare blightwords if I ever need extra bodies. I can do some basic epoxy gap filling melted skin is one of the easiest effects so will get back to these once the actual army has 3 colors so I can play in tournaments.

Plaguecaster and putrifier are ready for basing, still searching for a spellcrow bolter in box for my champion. Sculpting his sword as a plague sword, think piece is from GK sword.

Update: it’s 2 am just finished Champion, now I just need the BL 2 cannons to arrive in mail and building will be complete. These new models are a huge improvement to failcast to build.

The curse of sideways posting from my iphone is still happening. Trying to post this from my computer, I havent used a keyboard in years. So i dusted off 5 year old epoxy sculpt, its garbage to use as its almost impossible to stick to models. Champions are offically done being built, now time to begin basing 120+ models with sand.

So I’m scrapping terminus est for a mid tier list and am going with word bearers themed armor. Purple undercoat gives the red a nice contrast.

I ended up going to my first tournament and use a non terminus east army to test the water. Back to back losses both tournaments all weekend. Horrible dice rolls, and still learning combat. I used a basic list but still am learning unit placement and strats. Lost to custodes, then world eaters berserker spam, then grey knights, then GSC, then Drukhari, and final battle was vs crusher stampede. Now that I have an idea of the game mechanics, I’m going to stick with terminus est and see if I can figure out how to hopefully win some games.

It’s 230 am and I just finished some basic kit bashing. 2 meltaguns 1 champion. are done being built

I am officially 0-9 not using terminus est so I have migrated back. Obsec units are EXTREMELY important in 9th. 12 units of obsec that unfortunately are easy to kill but should take over the modified on turn 2. Best strategy since running up field plan is probably 3+ units of poxes running upfield with the +3” strategy while I put plague marines in reserve. Finishing up the plague marines and should be able to start painting everything by mid March once based, terrain to bases and primed. Starting with 9 CP dips to 4 for reserve giving me what I need to match upfield. If I can make the charge, plague marines will hit enough to hopefully slow down the enemy. I considered deathshroud terminators, but being new, a whole army of obsec should hopefully overrun the objectives. Turn 3 plague marines will most likely sit on objectives and spend actions. Should be a good arm workout lol.
