Looking for things to watch, so let's have em.

Mine are:

-I Claudius
-Battlestar Galactica (latest version)
-Breaking Bad

I'd like to throw STNG in there, but the episodes are more standalone and not really strong as a "series".

Also a huge fan of The Office, both the UK and US versions but preference to the US version.

These are my opinions. This is how I feel. Others may feel differently. This needs to be stated for some reason.

Deep Space Nine
Mobile Suit Gundam 00
Spartacus: Blood and Sand to Gods of the Arena (the other seasons aren't so great)

If we can include online non-conventional content;

Dragonball Z the Abridged Series
Hellsing the Abridged Series
Sword Art Online Abridged

I've honestly probably watched DBZA more times through than any actual TV show except DS9.

My picks:

-The Wire
-Band of Brothers
-Cheers

"Tell your gods we are coming for them, and that their realms will burn as ours did." -Thostos Bladestorm

Dragonball Z Abridged is better than Dragonball Z. It ended on such a high note that it makes me sad they will never cover the rest of the series, although their new shorts are pretty good.

I like both honestly.

Now Sword Art Online Abridged? Sword Art Online Abridged blows its source material out of the water. SAO is pretty mediocre as a series. The abridged version take almost every plot point and makes it better dramatically while also making it hilarious!

The Wire is in my Top 5 for sure.

I'd put the Sopranos up there but not sure it has aged so well.

Really? I find it gets better every time I watch it. So many little things, messages and foreshadows and the like, that they put in there that I finally catch after another watch

I specifically mean the casual violence against women hasn't aged so well, but I agree with ypu besides that not insignificant aspect of the show.

In no particular order.

1. Deep Space Nine
2. The Young Ones
3. Doctor Who

Without those, I’d simply be a very different person.

The Young Ones was something my parents probably shouldn’t have let me watch when I was that young. But they did, and it’s heavily shaped my preference in humour.

Doctor Who and DS9 are among the roots of my love for SciFi and to some extent, my personal ethics.

1) Battlestar Galactica (remake)
2) Chuck
3) Stranger Things

First two are autotakes for me, 3rd one I'm not sure since it's not concluded yet, so it might end up terrible like other series that started great, lol. I'd switch it with Mr Robot if we only consider concluded shows.

So many good ones here - thanks to all for the reminders!

Actually, one series I watched that only had 3 seasons and I was shocked by how much I enjoyed it...

Into the Badlands

Give it a go, as it is a pretty quick watch with only three seasons and like all shows the last season's direction gets a bit squirrely.

I think that’s what kind of makes the show what it is. There is an overall exaggeration of gender stereotypes in this show. Every man is extremely violent, unfaithful, angry, dominant, etc. And likewise the opposite for most women in the show. I think it adds to the theatrics and play-like nature of the show as well as inserting unsettling topics. Most importantly though, it furthers the anti-hero themes. Tony and the rest of them are bad people in almost every faculty including towards their wives/family yet the viewer roots for them wholeheartedly every episode.

Like the Ralph scene (you know the one) is supposed to be extremely disturbing as it’s more or less brushed off by the rest of the crew. It adds a level of “holy smokes” that even shows today, let alone back then, cannot replicate
