Hi guys,
So I've seen the second episode of The Exodite on Warhammer TV. The first one was a very promising, and the space battle was impressive.
Now, the second episode was just epic to me, with some Fire Warrior vibes.
What have you thought of this new tv show ? What are your expectations for the third one ?

I thought it was very good - looking forward to more!

I’m really enjoying it. Some gorgeous visuals, without going off piste.

For example?
Spoiler:
The Warlord Titan scenes are static art brought to life. I love it!

I'm enjoying it and it looks pretty, but the episodes seem awfully short to me. Watching them now episode by episode it doesn't give the story much time to advance, and if I rewatch it when it's finished I can well see myself be bothered by a disproportionate part of the runtime being taken up by the same intro and credits repeating again and again every ten minutes.

What's actually shown is cool, though. I found the

Spoiler:
indestructible Guardsman

a bit dodgy, but the

Spoiler:
titan sequence was cool and they even won, which is always a bonus when it comes to Tau stories. GW has a way of overplaying Tau technology and dismissing just how awesome Imperial technology can be. Glad to see the titans were done justice in that regard.

I agree with you on both points ! This particular guardsman was kinda annoying to be honest. But it's such a striking episode, to see those grim guardsmen at war with the usually brighter tau, all in this gruesome realistic war.
I was kinda surprised the Tau didn't just
Spoiler:
blow the titan with air assets like in the taros campaign (well, they were warhounds so it was probably easier)
and it's definitely suiting the descriptions of old 40k when the Tau were facing titan, having to improvise and being overpowered by them.

I'm wondering if the Tau are trying to de-escalate the conflict, or just don't have the resources to throw at it; and
Spoiler:
that Manta(?) seemed overconfident and paid the price for it.

I've enjoyed the visuals so far and the Titan engagement certainly was nice eye candy, but frustrated by the following;

Episodes are too short.
The dialogue is not very engaging. Astartes had no dialogue and says more IMHO.
Keeping in mind that this is a fictional setting, the tactical choices of this supposed elite Tau stealth team that should be experts in infiltration and spec ops seems so at odds with my expectations that it jars my sense of immersion.

So apparently this was a 3 episode only series?

Last episode was full of eye candy and the last scene showing....

Spoiler:
commorragh

admittedly caused some tingles and a quick gasp the moment I recognized it. Certaintly doesn't bode well for the future of the Tau character.

Didn't expect a philosophical debate to be the meat of the plot of this episode and seemed to be a time filler more than anything else.

Just can't help but feel that the whole series was a big tease in someways.

Regardless it left me overall wanting more.

I found the last episode a bit jarring.

To be fair, I probably need to go watch the whole thing on a binge, but given we’ve had delays between episode release, I do wonder if the last episode was perhaps a bodge job?

Either way, sucks to be that specific Tau!

They should have kept it as a single release. It makes a single 30-40 minutes or so short movie and is actually better. I really enjoyed it.

I was definitely out of it because of the big gaps between releases. And I agree it would have been better if it hadn't been split up if it's going to be so short anyway.

Yeah, Warhammer Community mentioned that in passing in an article around two weeks ago. I wonder if that did something with my expectations. The show is fun, but being told in advance that it's so short, I don't know. I certainly looked forward to the first two episodes more.

I wasn't expecting it to be so short, it had a lot of potential
Still very pleasing, and yeah the final scene was .. unexpected^^
Interesting to see what was the Exodite plan all along

I’m still somewhat blown away by the animation of Warlord Titans.

Amongst a lot of ultimately good stuff, that’s my stand out.

The

Oh hell yes they were!

Perhaps not quite as fluid of motion as my own head canon, but still a stark and excellent contrast to the Warlord.

Just doing my binge now, and I’m really enjoying it.

It’s also given me a thread thought for the 40K background forum. Expect that tomorrow.
