I've gone through the 2E Guard codex and amazingly enough I can't find rules for the iconic Baneblade - I've got a PDF of WD132 with templates to build a DIY Baneblade, did they ever do a 2E datafax for it?

MDG, I look in your direction.... ;-)

Armorcast got a licence to scale up the old epic baneblades to 40k size. they did come with a datafax if memory serves. since the interweb forgets nothing i would be shocked if there wasn't a PDF somewhere on the line.

It wouldn't have included rules for such a monstrosity because it honestly wasn't on the scale of the game at the time. A Leman Russ already was a pretty chunky toy back then.

Citadel Journal had rules for using a Thunderhawk in 2E back in the day. I had built one out of cardboard because I couldn't afford the limited metal one.

Not many people could afford one. IIRC they were around $1000.

They weren't that expensive. IIRC My buddy bought an NIB Armorcast Shadowsword from our LGS in 1995 for ~$120; adjusted to todays value that's only ~$230.

Edit: unless you were talking about the Thunderhawk. If so, my apologies for misinterpreting.

I was referring to the thunderhawk. I bought a baneblade for ~$90 back then and a falcon for around $55. I think a friend of mine bought his shadowsword for $90 but that would have been around 2000-01.

I'm pretty sure the Armorcast baneblade/shadowsword had a datafax with them (probably the one posted above).

Unfortunately, I recently purged all my old assembly instructions (all the way back to the RT Landraider), which would have included that.

If I recall, I bought my Armorcast baneblade and shadowsword for around $50 each (but it has been 20+ years so my memory may be faulty), but they were the fixed hull version that couldn't be swapped around.

My hull split top/bottom and 2 separate treads. The turret was also a separate piece. There were holes/slots for the bolters/flamers but I don't recall if they came with the kit or not.

The first 28mm scale thunderhawk was originally sold for £400. Because it is also 40,000 new pence. Because of course they did
