My proposed Instant Death rule is this:
Each time a model would suffer damage from an attack with a random Damage characteristic (e.g Damage D6), if that model has a Toughness characteristic half or less than the Strength characteristic of that attack, do not roll dice to randomly determine the Damage characteristic, instead that attack is considered to have the maximum possible Damage value (e.g a Damage value of D6 becomes Damage 6, Damage D3 becomes Damage 3, Damage D6+2 becomes Damage 8, etc.)
The idea behind the proposed rule.
D6 weapons are kinda a feel bad weapon each time you roll a 1 for Damage, and this would help avoid that against multi-wound medium infantry.
Concerns:
Maybe the maximum damage is too much? I considered making it a minimum 3 damage rather than max damage so characters aren't instantly vaporized and D3+3 and D6+2 and higher wouldn't benefit.
Any suggestion or comments? do you like my idea or does it sucks and I should feel bad?
