Time to pick next month's theme! This time. your options are:

The Underdogs: "Soldier, grab this spear/axe/lasgun/sharp stick and get out there!" Common footsoldiery naturally forms the bulk of many armies, but often these folks find themselves hopelessly outmatched by the horrors they face. Nonetheless, they hold the line, and this theme is for them. Your entry should feature the most unlikely to be heroes, be they destined to punch well above their weight against a mighty foe, or simply die in droves catching sword strokes and bullets so that their more elite peers can do their work.

If You Can't Stand The Heat: From the dawn of civilisation to the far future, fire is both a deadly weapon and a devastating force of nature, Your entry should feature models that use fire or heat to their advantage, from a fireball-tossing wizard to a flamer-toting Battle Sister.

Apocalypse? Now?: for when mere victory alone is not enough, and you must summon forces that herald the very end of days to utterly annihilate your enemy. From the city-levelling power of a Titan to the unspeakable horrors of Chaos Demons, many armies feature weapons and warriors of last resort and unparalleled destructive potential. Your entry should feature such apocalyptic entities.

Out of Sight, Out of Mund: Some foes, you don't see until it's too late, whether it be a cloaked sniper many miles away or an assassin driving the blade between your ribs.Your entry should feature models that do their best work unseen by their enemies.

Might be a little shy on flame based models, although I do have some hellblasters, and they can get hot.

Underdogs might also be a bit of a stretch, but I could put some basic troopers in.

The other two are easy, and I’m spoiled for choices for “Out of Sight” so I tossed a vote that way.

I voted underdogs because I have a model that's just perfect (and all I've done to the model so far is prime her).

I voted Out if Sight, but could probably find something for any of these.

Now showing The Fellowship of the Ring, along with some Dreadball Captains!

Painting total as of 4/13/2024: 31 plus a set of modular spaceship terrain

Painting total for 2023: 79 plus 28 Battlemechs and a Dragon-Balrog

Voted Out of Sight, may get my Warhammer+ Vindicare soon and am eager to paint him (even if he will not see the field of battle).

Mostly, on my phone.

Underdogs, I think. Poor old Shield agents. Although Apocalypse Would be an excuse to paint Thanos I guess.

Theophony"... and there's strippers in terminator armor and lovecraftian shenanigans afoot."
Solar_Lion: "Man this sums up your blog nicely."

Anpu-adom: "being Geek is about Love. Some love broadly. Some love deeply. And then there are people like Graven.

I voted Underdogs. If it wins I’ll be painting my Mouseguard sculpts and selecting five likely representatives.

I have a good “out of sight” though so I’m happy if it it goes that way too.

The other two not so much…

Voted for the least popular... *sigh* And I had some classic rogue trader fire dragons to paint, too!

Couldn't vote for Apocalypse as it's already been cancelled, but I guess underdogs fits my propensity to paint eldar. If you can have underdogs that act so superior...

It's a good thing we canceled the apocalypse. That may be the one option for which I don't actually have anything. Looks like trash troops are far in the lead. I can make that work. Rebel scum can't be hard to come by.

Nehekhara lives! Sort of!

Why are we saying that Apocalypse has been cancelled?

Because of a mix of usernames and democracy. Also because the apocalypse really inconveniences me at this time.

Barring some big wonder, it seems the Underdogs are going to win. I was miffed at first, until I remembered that I have my Ankh-Morpork City Watch minis stripped and waiting for a new paintjob. Now I'm excited

I have the slight feeling that a number of people are excited for the new chaos guard next week.

thelegs D: not the easiest to say for sure or completely ignore with gaunt's ghosts, but the chaos guard legs are nice and normal looking

Cant Stand the Heat & Apocalypse Now - turn one artillery mishap Plague Furnace or Screaming Bell, falling off the wheels

Otherwise, Underdog - squeaky, squish-raging clanrats

I'm waiting for this to start to "encourage" myself to paint something and as it's looking like it's going to be underdogs I think I'll started on my KDM survivors.
