Hello Dakka,

I wish I was meeting you under better circumstances. My husband recently passed away (more about that in my introduction post if you're interested).
Right now I am trying to reassemble some of his broken Tyranids and I'm stuck. I have this guy who is missing his head:

It's difficult to find the head when I don't know what I'm looking for. It's an older model. The body is metal but some of the limbs are plastic.

I've searched but I can't find anything that has that profile, with the pointed tail and the single (not double) row of protrusions down his back. He's larger than a Tyranid warrior (he uses a 60mm base). If someone could tell me what he is, I'd be very appreciative.

It’s the old 3rd edition hive tyrant. The head has a big grin on it and resembles the Alien Queen from the films of the same name with a big crest on it.

If you break apart my or anyone else's posts line by line I will not read them.

I remember this Hive Tyrant (because I vastly preferred the previous incarnation).

If you have a ballpark of the era you can check out the old catalogs here:

It’s not complete, but a great resource for tracking down what old GW models are. It’s my go-to if I don’t know the specifics but can get close.

As others have said, sorry for you loss, and let us know what we can do to help. I’m always surprised how well and swiftly we can collectively ID minis here. Toss up pics and we’ll see what we can do!
