Hey,

I'm writing a Biel-Tan codex and I need some more background about the them to make them stand out on the battlefield. So far I only have that they hate Orks, are very optimistic about the Aeldari race, and that they use a lot of Aspect Warriors.

Can you add to this knowledge or maybe advice me to where I can get more information?

I got my knowledge from codexes, lexicanum and fandom.

To me the Chaos Space Marines needed to be characterised as a threat reaching back to the Imperium's past, a threat which had refused to lie down and become part of history. This is in part why the gods of Chaos are less pivotal in Codex Chaos; we felt that the motivations of Chaos Space Marines should remain their own, no matter how debased and vile. Though the corrupted Space Marines of the Traitor Legions make excellent champions for the gods of Chaos, they are not pawns and have their own agendas of vengeance, empire-building vindication or arcane study which gives them purpose.

Codexes and Lexicanum are your best bet as the Fandom Wiki doesn't cite its sources properly. If you look through the Lexicanum page it should list famous battles and individuals as well.

One very ancient piece from even before WD 302 is that on Biel-Tan, the Path of the Warrior is the first Path for Eldar upon attaining the age of maturity.

More details on Biel-Tan can be found in the novel Valedor which has more details on Biel-Tan physically and has scenes on board the Craftworld, though this was before its fracturing.

Thanks guys for the input.

It's a shame that so little has been written about the Aeldari Craftworlds compared to space marine Chapters. I could really use some dynamics like the Blood Angels have with their two towers opposing each other.

From Valedor, in the Webway side of the main gate to Biel-Tan there was a big statue of Asuryan holding a set of scales. Legend was that when the scales shifted towards being balanced, the time of the Eldar being dominant would have come again. One of the Eldar characters thought to themselves that if that were true, that time would be a long way away as the scales were very unbalanced.

Biel-Tan was also the site of a variant performance of the Dance Without End that did not end in the traditional way of Slaanesh and the Laughing God still in ongoing dance conflict. Instead it portrayed Ynnead growing in size while the Laughing God kept Slaanesh distracted, then the Laughing God seemingly deliberately making a mistake leading to him being tripped up by Slaanesh and falling to the ground. While Slaanesh gloats and prepares to deliver the killing blow, Ynnead looms over Slaanesh and only at the last moment does Slaanesh turn round and see Ynnead, and then displays fear on its mask...ending the performance.

I'm a Chaos fanatic.

Are any of you Aeldari fans or even better: Biel-Tan fans?

I ask, because I would like a quote in the beginning of the Biel-Tan codex; a quote, which captures the spirit of the Biel-Tan.

It would be great to get the quote from from a fan, as my codexes and rules are written to people, who love the lore and their particular faction of interest.
