Hi All,

I managed to pick up an absolute bargain in the form of a second hand Crimson Hunter for my fledgling Aeldari army.

I've now got the model which is great however I am wondering whether I ought to remodel it as a Hemlock fighter? I've been out of the game for twenty years so I have absolutely no idea whether one performs better than the other and figure if I need to do physical work to it, now is the time.

Also, is there a consensus on what point bracket of game they would fall into e.g. frowned upon in anything less than 1500pt games? I really don't want to inadvertently become TFG!

Thanks in advance

Hello and welcome back to 40k. At the moment neither unit is very good as 9th edition is all about holding objectives, and that's just not something flyers do.

As far as which one to build, it depends on what your list needs. If you need more long range firepower, go with the Crimson Hunter. If you need an extremely mobile psyker with a bit of extra durability and short-range firepower, go with the Hemlock. Personally I think the Hemlock is more interesting for the psychic utility it adds to the table. Crimson Hunter Exarchs were the premier eldar unit for all of 8th edition, but nowadays you can get far cheaper/more efficient long range firepower elsewhere in the eldar codex.

I'd go with the Hemlock.
It might not have as consistent a RoF as the Hunter, but it's can play in the psychic phase & has built in damage reduction. I like damage reduction.

Airplanes are good at hunti high priority targets for a few turns before they die. Cm that can also make character placement difficult with the look out sir rule.
