I've been thinking, might it be better if the Heresy joined 40k in terms of increasing the wound count of certain models (i.e., Marines to two, Terminators to three)? The way that Marines seem to die so easily en masse doesn't really strike me as reflecting well on the fact that they are ultra-powerful transhumans. They just feel so weak in the game.

Some legion specific buffs are linked to the wound score protecting certain terminators from instant death of S8+ weapons while others are not. Despite that Tacticals cost only ten points which is way too cheap for two wounds. So wound scores are fine.

No, because then you'd complain that marines being really ineffective at killing other marines makes bolters look weak and we get into 40k-style stat inflation with W2 marines, AP-3 bolters, AoC to ignore the AP, etc.

Nope, becuase 30k is less killy then 40k is right now. Terminators with 2w are incredibly durable especially when you consider they have reroll able saves against templates and blasts.

To many unpainted models to count.

A major part of the Horus Heresy is that whilst the average combatant is a fully fledged marine, that shows you just how LETHAL the wars are on a massive scale where even marines are mowed down like we'd expect guardsmen in 40k with weaponry that whilst rank and file now have descended into relics of a former age come 40k.

A single marine just doesn't matter in the Heresy, a realm where the Primarches themselves stomp around.

This also unlike 40k where you can bring basically catch all weapons IE ap -1 and -2 and be able to put the hurt onto anything, HH is very much about bringing the right tools for the right job. If you dont have anything to deal with AP 2 for example. you are gonna have a bad time when terminators show up.

They are fighting other marines no difrent than human on human action.

If anything this simply illustrates why chaos marines should be far stronger than loyalists and far fewer in number.

The pdf introduced a bike with T4 and W1 for 55 points. You may want to change this profile first otherwise you will feel like an imbecile to field such an unit.
