Greetings chums, I am here to stoke the creative fires in our noggins and reel in some ambitious fellows for a most ambitious project idea I've been kicking around- Reworking Bretonnia and a High Elf (?) vs Bretonnia campaign.

Yes yes, I'm aware anything fanmade can no longer be official or whatever due to GeeDubs shenanigans but I'm not here for that.

To be frank, I love Warhammer, be it Age of Sigmar, Fantasy, 40K, its spin-offs, I'm just a big fan of Warhammer that it's a little sad to see the direction it's going. The price hikes on models, the strenuous adherence to lore, painfully bland lore (My own subjective opinion), ect. There's just a lot happening in the franchise that's killing my interest, and I'd wager the interest of others.

My idea is doing Warhammer a solid and bringing people together for some epic community campaigns, faction roaster expansions and going balls to the wall. We'll forego any linear timeline (For the moment) and focus on narrative campaigns between factions that we never saw square off.

No good guys, no bad guys, just Warhammer being Warhammer.

Orks blazing a warpath through the Worlds Edge mountains to wage a senseless war against the baddest mother f**kers in the Chaos Wastes.

Lizardmen reclaim Lustria in full and set their sites beyond. Temples take flight and their invasion of the South Lands is impeded by a prosperous Karak of epic proportions. So Kroxigors ambushing and barreling through a convey of trains. Ancient Dwarf Golems going full WWE with Carnisaurs. Temples so large they themselves land and create a mountain range to rival the Dwarfs.

As the power of Warpstone fades from the lands of men, Skaven migrate elsewhere, sometimes down, other times up. Spontaneous swarms of rats just flood from beneath to wreck havoc on the surface like a natural disaster. Unfortunately the Beastmen have acquired a taste for the rodents and they flood the warrens, devouring slaves in mass and spawning a new breed of Beastmen all together. Great Skaven Clans must adapt to the new predators in their midst.

The High Elves are no longer a dying race, nay nay. The High Elves are numerous. A Dragon of epic proportions dubbed the Avatar of Khaine imposes its will on the lesser beasts. The man only known as the Immolator leads this beasts and a host of newly awaken dragons to purge Nagaroth, the surrounding seas and everywhere else of opposition. Dragons are slain in the dozens but no overt enemies remain, thus Ulthuan seeks to conquest their former colonies in Bretonnia.

None of these have to be in a linear timeline or anything, they're more so jumping off points for campaign ideas. Either one off campaigns or, hopefully, a series.

People, lets just ease up on our adherence to lore and get creative.

Lets create new faction units that we can contrive a believable lore reason to put into armies. Nothing overpowered, just flavor for flavors sake.

No timeline to restrict us, previous events to account for just us cranking Warhammer Fantasy from 10/10 to 11/10.

I've got ideas and a rough outline for reworking Bretonnia and an eventual High Elf vs Bretonnia (Featuring Dwarfs and Wood Elves). It's an idea and not set in stone.

Overall, chatting and writing with the Warhammer community on something fun and exciting is what I've been craving for awhile. My interest in Warhammer is... Welp, it's going the way of the dinosaurs. If yours is to then consider chiming in. If you just love Warhammer and want to offer your enthusiasm, I wouldn't say no even at gun point. Again, this is about bringing the community together for some Warhammer Fantasy madness of epic proportions.

Cheers you glistening beautiful b**tards!

So ahh... No one is interested in creating a custom campaign or tossing out ideas?

It’s a big subject and maybe those of us with an inkling for old warhammer fantasy from back in the day haven’t thought about it for a long time and don’t know where to start.

I for one am long out of touch with anything official GW. I literally ignored all of Age of Sigmar. I have no clue about WFB from 7th ed (?) onward.

I’d be happy to throw some wood elves into the mix but it’s difficult to understand what that would look like or how i could best serve what you have in mind.

I can understand from your initial post that you have lots of enthusiasm to see us go big and not let our scope be too restricted, but without a solid format, some skeleton of a plan to start building upon, it’s hard to know what you’d like us to do exactly.

I’ve done some “insert your own” collaborative fiction threads on Dakka but that’s all I know. I’m not sure what a community campaign entails exactly.

You might take a look at the Crusade of Fury threads and see if that’s the kind of format you have in mind. I haven’t taken part in those but you might find more people willing to do the same in a WFB setting.

I think maybe I’m more the kind of “ork
walks into a bar” type writer.
