Kasr Wall is Guard.

I'm going on a limb and Shatterspear is Tau while Host is daemon.

Suppression force could be tau, but do we not get a marine box? Looking at the list of names it fit the best.
Host of annihilation stuck me as chaos of some flavor, or posable necron.

I’d guess the Swordwind box is going to be very aspect heavy. Lot more of them in plastic these days, and at their price point really want to be in a bundle box.

Yeah, Shatterspear is going to be Marines because they're not going to NOT have a Marine one.

It's strictly a leak of battleforces for 40k. There's been rumors of Horus Heresy battleforces for Christmas...it's the only reason I'm thinking there might be no 40k marine set.

Makes sense; I could see them doing that.

Kasrs are Cadian city forts (and the root for Karskrin), so gonna be betting on Guard for that one.

Every space marine xmas box since 2018 (there wasn't one in 2017) has ended with the word "force":
Shieldbreaker strike force
Interdiction force
Supremacy force
Blood Angels Strike force

There's a lot of other patterns too; CSM boxes end with "warband", Tau end with "cadre" and Tyranid boxes end with "swarm". So we're probably only getting the last of those three.

I reckon Host of Annihilation will be something new; daemons or maybe thousand sons.

Host of annihilation will be Necrons. They like annihilating things.

Unless the Squats are grim darker then expected.

And you'd be wrong like usual because Tau boxes are 'cadre'. 'Force' is specifically SM, always had been.

These, if they exist, will be Adeptus Uglysquattus, most likely Mk 6 or maybe 3/4 if GW forgets about their wonky proportions for a second. 40K box will be Primaris. You know, that thing specifically absent from HH (unless we count Raptors and various modified Blackshield warbands).

An Eldar one, hey?

There are so many new miniatures in the Eldar range we might get a box that isn't some combination of Falcons/Vypers/Wraithguard/Dire Avengers. Won't that be nice.

I hope it's real.

Interestingly Valrak also talked about Battleforce rumours two days ago but what he heard was completely different.

He did say its a new source so salt as needed.

Two Space Marine boxsets (Imperial Fists, Raven Guard)
Death Guard
Thousand Sons
and no Xenos

Also no HH sets and a focus on characters in those sets

The Death Guard one will apparently include Mortarion?

(Edit: Also someone of TGA also said Imperial Fists, Raven Guard and additionally Custodes but no idea where he got that from)

Forget about a grain of salt, we'd better take this one with a whole salt mine! I seriously doubt they'd put something like Mortarion in one of those box sets, and if they didn't do a Xenos one there would be some REALLY salty fanboys out there (I mean, there will be anyway but still...).

My armies (re-counted and updated on 11/1/23, including modeled wargear options):
Dark Angels: ~15000 Astra Militarum: ~1200 | Adeptus Custodes: ~1900 | Imperial Knights: ~2000 | Sisters of Battle: ~3500 | Leagues of Votann: ~1200 | Tyranids: ~2600 | Stormcast Eternals: ~5000

Those 4 boxes are all Marines in my opinion...

Also 40k usually gets 6 boxes. So maybe Grey Knights, and Custodes will be the other two.

I mean the last Craftworlds one had a Wraithknight in it and Mortarion would mean you can't buy two of them so I can actually see them doing it.

I would be more surprised about no Xenos than these four

You realize right the sprues in boxes are made specifically for these?

Old models are old models regardless when they are casted... which is the point here.

Dumping indicates getting rid of but they have no reason to want to get rid of sprues they don't have.

Actually business wise It's very bad idea to cast and sell models for which you would release new version as you will sell less of new models...

So if there's redone models odds are old version of those aren't in the bundle.

I remember back in Kill Team 1 GW was accused of dumping old stock in the boxes left, right, and center... and then it turned out it was all colored plastic, so cast specifically for that.

Bad idea? I doubt this specific limited time Christmas bundle will compromise any potential new edition sales next year.

Missing the point still?
Old models are probably going to be discontinued and not sold anymore if new edition has new and modern designed kits/sprues.
So its not the case of selling unsold stock or plastic its the case of dumping old kit designs one last time.

Necron battleforces are named "legion", daemon battleforces are named "host".

I could see some accountant looking at numbers of sprues moved, and return of investment numbers and wanting to make them look better.

Box contents are a balance of having enough of the hot stuff to move the box, but not so much to canabalize individual kit sales.

But from a production POV it costs the same to produce old kits as new ones.

GW doesn't use old sprues, but we know GW's accounting considers each kit to have a production cost that is eventually amortised and then the kit is considered to be much more profitable for ebit.

So the margin on those Nid sprues is probably the best they will ever be, from an accounting POV.

But yeah, interesting that this doesn't fit with Valrak's list but he did say it was from a new source so more likely to be crap.

I'm not sure I'm too fussed about a 40k set this year unless the Deamon's one is really good and Slaanesh/Nurgle themed (which is unlikely). But give me a Necromunda terrain set. Like don't be cute about it, just stick a load of bulkheads and stair kits in a box.
