Has anybody run storm speeders? One of them is BS2+, 1 has 3 melta shots and 1 was anti infatery and that one was only 125 points.

I have not heard of anybody running them. Although both multimelta attack bikes and landspeeders have shown on in sucksesfull lists.

Any suckess stories and opinions would be nice.

I haven't used them myself, but I've faced 3 of them.

The 1st was the melta version.
It was provinding AT fire for a mostly CC themed White Scars bike force. It was effective enough round 1. After that though it was mostly just an expensive objective holder as the game devolved into CC.

The 2nd time I faced 2 of the gattling cannon version. They were part of a maximum gattling cannon themed Primaris force full of ATVs.
They were not particularly effective as the gattlings lacked the AP & damage needed against what I was playing. Lot of shots though.

Yeah thanks. I really apreciate you taking the time and sharing experience. I recenty started using Heavy Interscessors with the assault version of the gun and liked them a lot. Not so much because of the damage of the gun, but because they where so tanky. I ran the assalut verison, but then I face orks a lot. Vs armour of contemt I need a high AP to punch through, so the 3 shots seemed good enough.

The gattling verison sounds a lot like that unit. Less taky, more shooty, but it dies easier and does not furfill the obligatory troop section.

The laser one has BS2, and can snipe from a long way away. But they seem very fragile.

No more than pure opinion here, but the Thunderstrike (las talon version) is the only one I've ever had eyes for. BS2, longer range weapons and a lack of rubbish secondary weapons like grenade launchers. For either of the other Storm Speeder variants, there are plenty of other units around that bring either fast melta or anti infantry so they don't really stand out as having any purpose.

I have dealt with the hammer strike, I think it is the best version among the speeders, the other two carry one of the anti infantry fire, but the marines do not lack this type of shots, and the other carries fire similar to the hammer strike only that apart from the 2+ to hit it fires fewer shots and has variable damage, I would choose the hammerstrike but it depends on what you need in the list.

I like that one suggests the hammer strike and another one suggests the thunderstrike. Perhaps there år hopes for these yet.

I have a 1500 point list of pure ravenwing speeders. I have 2 Hammerstrikes, in it and after lots of math hammern with a dash of hatred for primaris anything including weapon profiles, it's the most reliable. 5 Str 8 shots per chassis is intense and well suited for a TAC role. The anti-infantry one is futile against things with toughness and saves. The anti tank one is hyper specialized and after the 2 vehicles your opponent has are gone it'll be removing an infantry model or 2 a turn. The profile of S8 ap-3 Dmg3 is mega dependable at this point and skirts a lot of the BS rules implemented in the last half of this edition.

I have a thunderstrike I use. Bs2 with basically 3 lascannon shots on a fast platform isn't pretty nice. They also are not too expensive.
