Recently finished work on a Python script that generates randomised space marine Chapters.
Frankly, it's nothing fancy, and the code itself probably isn't particularly elegant, but it works. It even has a part that works, but I have no idea why.

Almost orky, really.

Anyway, initially I just made it for myself, but I eventually decided to have a go at sharing it with the rest of the 40k community, on the off chance that someone out there might be interested in something like this. It's rudimentary stuff, it just spits out a .txt file with a bunch of information about YOUR GUYS™ - founding date, combat doctrine, mutations, organisation, that sorta stuff.

Use should be fairly straight-forward, especially if you consult the readme.

Got the idea after I used an old fashioned roll table and manually went through it some 52 times. Obviously not all in one sitting, this is over a period of months. Just something I did every now and then. Found it fun to see what kinds of results I could get out of it.
Then I figured I could probably automate the process.

It's been a while.
I'm still not Canadian, so don't worry about the flag, but I did do a bit of work on the script.

No huge additions, but I did clean it up a little and also added a gakky GUI. It's rudimentary, but it works! Probably.

I'll be honest, I've been away from the code long enough that I forgot how parts of it worked, so I had to coax the machine spirit and perform assorted other esoteric tricks.

Quick update:
Script is now an .exe!

What this means is that you're no longer required to have Python installed for it to work.
You literally just run an .exe.

Someone else who can create entire Space Marine Chapters could be bad news for Cawl if Guilliman ever catches him trying to regrow The Angel.
