Hello so I have been having some problems with testors color shift paint (see photo) and was hoping for some help. For whatever reason when I try to paint a thin coat over my base coat of black, the paint starts coming off on the raised surfaces of the model (this doesnt seem to affect the primer) anyone know why this is happening and how to stop it? Basecoat of the model is Vallejo light grey air primer, with citadel Abaddon black airbrushed over it.

I have only used the small spray can of the paint (which performed well).
Assuming there's no other temperature/humidity problems (and the paint bottle has been shaken a lot) given the other spraying you're doing, have you tried a thick coat instead of a thin coat? Maybe not gooping it on, but thicker than a light mist?
The basecoat Testors sells for this is black gloss, which might also affect the results, since that would create a smooth surface and allow a thicker Colorshift layer (try a different basecoat). I doubt that brushing on the paint versus spraying matters outside of the necessary volume that creates the minimum ideal layer, but it might help with figuring out the application volume.

looking at the last picture it looks like a handling issue.

If paint isn't adhering to the raised areas (but is working fine everywhere else) it's usually because the model was previously handled by greasy hands.

Edit: in this case it would have happened after priming

And it's worth noting that 'greasy' is overstating things. Even your normal skin oils built up over a couple hours can have this affect.

ALWAYS wash your hands before handling minis and re-wash them every hour or two, or use some sort of mini handle.

Thanks for the help guys, my best guess it is it was sweat, not grease, I had been airbrushing for a few hours and it had gotten fairly hot in my coat.
