I believe that at long last we will finally see some official version of the Emperor's Tarot.

The Arcs of Omen Preview Videos (nicely voiced by Phillip Sacramento aka "Interrogator Jurgen") have each been taking the form of a card of the Major Arcana.

It seems within the realm of possibility that they could eventually be assembled into a product...

If such a thing were to be produced, I would hope it could be used as a game mechanic (such as in a retrofit of Inquisitor or similar).

It was a game mechanic in Epic '97.

... and I certainly think it would be of great use in any 40K Roleplay.

When did tarot cards become a thing in 40K, sounds like witchcraft to me

IIRC it's existed since the early days - Ian Watson's novels in the 90s.

Lexicanum wrote:The Emperor's Tarot (aka Imperial Tarot) is a pack of seventy-eight psychoactive liquid-crystal wafers that are linked to the thoughts of the Emperor. The Tarot, commonly believed to have been designed by the Emperor himself, is used throughout the Imperium as a form of divination.

i mean, it is witchcraft, but its offically sanctioned witchcraft, much like psykers, navigators, etc.

It is a matter of fact in 40k that time flows differently in the warp. it follows that someone properly trained could use this to "peek" into the future, and this is the basis of using the Tarot as a tool of divination.

its always a matter of great interpretation, much like the modern tarot, but its occasional lucky guesses/correct divinations lend it credence in a world where the God Emperor really is in a position to send messages via such coded means....

To be a man in such times is to be one amongst untold billions. It is to live in the cruelest and most bloody regime imaginable. These are the tales of those times. Forget the power of technology and science, for so much has been forgotten, never to be relearned. Forget the promise of progress and understanding, for in the grim dark future there is only war. There is no peace amongst the stars, only an eternity of carnage and slaughter, and the laughter of thirsting gods.
