Since the Chaigon 17 narrative campaign wrapped up, I've been thinking about what the next narrative campaign I wanted to try running on these forums.

I was thinking about doing something at the sub-sector level with multiple war zones that would incorporate 40K and all its specialist games.

I.E. 40K, Kill Team BFG, Epic, Aeronautica, and Titanica.

My proposed format would be that the different game types would earn different amount of VPs for the sides.

BFG would earn the winning side in an individual game the most amount of total VPs, however the VPs would be automatically distributed across several warzones to represent how the fleets affect things at a macro level.

Epic, Titanica and Aeronautica would earn the winning side the second highest total VPs, but the game could only be played on certain high priority worlds. Like a Forge World or Hive world for example.

40K and Kill Team would net the winning side the lowest VPs however it would offer the players the most strategic flexibility options as far as where the VPs could go. I.E. Can be allocated to any war zone.

We'd do three campaign turns with players reporting one game per turn. Each turn would see shifts in each warzone much like the old Eye of Terror Campaign.

Any thoughts?

London

Having run a campaign for a disparate club, we had a core of 3-4 reliable players who formed the main sides. They were the generals and people who would play games together regularly.

Format was Sunday Generals decided their moves, armies meet. There was the week for club members to pitch in and play games that had been generated. Generals picked up some of the unplayed games in their Saturday meetup. End of the day simple system determined what happened to the rest of the games. Sunday was to then do moves and post up the next list of battles to happen. Whilst there were recommendations of game systems that was left to players to ultimately decide (everything from Killteam to Forbidden Stars).

So, after trying to run a campaign where you had participation issues and only one other person stayed to the end, you're immediately rushing to get the next attempt started ASAP but doing it with the obscure niche games that hardly anyone plays? It's your game I guess but it doesn't seem like you're learning at all from your previous attempt.

Strange that you, a fresh-faced user, has such savage pep in your step about a stranger's internet campaign from before you were on the board. Instead of lecturing this guy I'd suggest you look for likeminded people to comisserate with -- try a private message to Aecus Decimus from the campaign wrap-up thread! Happy to play matchmaker, btw, so no thanks necessary. <3

Yes, how strange that a new user would see a thread titled "Dakka Forums Narrative Campaign" on the index page, think that it's an official forum thing that would be cool to join, and end up disappointed that it's just 1-2 people with no official endorsement and never went anywhere.

What's also strange is that you're permitted to stalk and harass me with nonsense accusations because you're salty about losing a forum argument.
