in the computer?

Hi everyone. Finished my first Ork vehicle scratchbuild.

Decided on a halftrack style cause I wanted some experience making tank tracks.

Kept the amount of bits to a minimum for the build, which I'm happy with.

I'm a big fan of the rat rod aesthetic, I want my Ork vehicles to have the tetanus hot rod look too.

A closer look at the tank tracks. I used the tutorial by Ian Wyatt (aka wazzoo2000), an excellent scratchbuilder who had a blog on Dakka once upon a time.

The driver and gunner aren't glued in to help with painting. Put a lot more effort than I probably should have into sculpting sitting legs for the driver.

A top down shot, just for fun.

Overall I learned a lot building this, it was fun. I'll probably get around to painting it in the next decade or so.

That’s a great piece. Great attention to detail. Thanks for sharing!

Please excuse any spelling errors. I use a tablet frequently and software keyboards are a pain!

Great work! Can't wait to see it painted.

As for modelling driver legs, I came to the conclusion that anything more than greenstuff sausages is overkill in a car/trukk, because you won't be able to see any of it. If you ever do a bike or a jeep without doors, those skills will come in handy.

Excellent build and even more excellent for your call back to the Dakka heritage track tutorial.
Great looking legs. And I would add if you ever play GorkaMorka with this (you absolutely should!) then there are times when your drivers and crew can be thrown from the vehicle and you’d see those lovely sculpted boots.

That is fantastic. A deceptively simple overall design, with a great amount of detail work in the actual construction.

Wow! I love the bonnet and grill, real 1930’s US truck vibes.
