It's taken a long time to figure out what happened to Warhammer since getting back into this after a 16+ year break. But with Arks of Omen and the likely return of yet another primarch I think I've figured it out.

So here are my predictions:

-Eventually, all the Primarchs will come back to life. And they each will have their own model.

-As each Primarch returns, some Chaos thing also awakens (which will be a new model).

-Eventually, the Emperor himself returns in human form. (And you will be able to buy a model of the Emperor).

Someone tell me I'm wrong here? I really hope I'm wrong.

You are wrong. The Primarchs will, at least in many cases, have multiple models I strongly suspect that they will at some point use the 'Shard' stuff they introduced in the Heresy background to have loyal Shards of traitor Primarchs, or corrupted Shards of loyal ones. The tantalizing possibility to have 'Odin' Russ as well as 'Wulfen' Russ will just be too much for them to resist.

If this happens, then it would really show that GW no longer understand 40k, as the Emperor returning would be such a huge change to the setting it just wouldn't be 40k anymore. Him being on the Golden Throne is one of the core elements of the whole thing.

Similar, but not as bad, with the idea of all the loyalist Primarchs all returning, as then it becomes Horus Heresy 2.0 where the focus is on them and it becomes their story likely to the detriment of the rest of the setting.

Nah.

If He does return, I can see it as a God/Demi-God (depending on your criteria) in the same vein as Sigmar and his former Pantheon.

Basically, but if the GT blows up, and the emperor returns he should come back as a different person of great importance. He wouldn't want to be God, or would he now that he is?

Please don't return the Emperor into a coporeal form. 40k is already jumping the shark with primarchs returning. Big NOPE.

I think it's safe to say the Big E will not be respawning any time soon. I mean, didn't Abnett say in interviews something along the lines of "Removing the Emperor from the Golden Throne would result in a Heat Death of the entire universe"

Yeah here's the problem though. They've respawned a primarch. Ok cool...if it was a one off thing than nothing to worry about.

But now they are talking about respawning a second primarch? At that point we pretty much know the rest are coming back.

And if the kids are coming back, how long until Dad shows up?

Of course the cynic in me sees a long term plan to one day make Horus Heresy models compatible with whatever edition of 40K comes up by having this sort of narrative convergence.

You could actually make even a corporeal return of the Emperor a compelling story, have his warp-god Alter Ego be released and go 'Just as planned, excellent' and the human-ish part of him be totally devastated, afraid and in panic 'This was a huge mistake' as a starting point... I'm not saying GW has it in them, but it could become a good story.

For now, let's wait for the resolution of both Abnett Mega-Metaplots in TEatD and Pandemonium, i guess some things will get clearer after that.

GW aren't talking about respawing a second Primarch, though. It's a rumour, and that sort of rumour has been going on for years. While in this case some of the stuff we've got does line up with some parts of the rumour, it's still not a definite thing by any means.

I really hope they don't bring back another. I think the Horus Heresy series, while a decent enough setting on its own, should stay as its own thing. Fans of that series / those who were introduced to 40k via that first then wanting or expecting 40k to also be the Primarchs story is just absurd to me, and detrimental to 40k.

I think it’s clear they are bringing back those Primarchs that they can, that they left in lore teetering on returning anyway.
We’ve got 1 and 3. Soon 2 and 4 most likely.

Russ, Dorn And something big for Blood Angels would be potentials I think.

On the Emperor, I don’t see it in model form, there’s nothing his level on the other side (Abaddon isn’t up to the enhanced level Horus was surely as we’d have already lost).
But lore, maybe. There’s a lot of lore in Godblight about what’s going on there..

Well, you're definitely wrong, as there were 2 chaos primarchs, 1 loyalist, and now another chaos. So clearly the chaos things 'awakening' aren't tied to Primarch models (and no primarch has 'come back to life' yet, Roboute healing in stasis was a thing for decades, and none of the daemon primarchs were dead in any sense).

But, the thing is, they can stop at any point. They don't have to rez the full roster of primarchs in any way shape or form. The daemon prince primarchs (as much as I personally dislike them on the table) were never out of the setting. Multiple loyalists had big question marks about their fate. As long as they don't bring back any of the definitely dead ones, I'm kind of indifferent (though an alpharius seems like kind of a cheat).

Honestly, I expect them to hesitate on the Undivided Chaos primarchs, simply because they can't (as a studio) decide on whether or not chaos undivided is a thing they want or not. It keeps flopping around like a dying fish, but they won't just gut it or toss it back in the water once and for all.

There is really no reason to expect an Emperor model at all. Its either 'I win' on the 40k game scale or he's a joke. Neither are good for gaming.

If we've ever going to see an Emperor model, I imagine it'd be in the Horus Heresy and from Forge World - I don't think we'd see one for 40k.

Maybe, but at the current rate of Primarch releases such hypothetical is still a decade or two away.
