Hey guys, was playing a game yesterday and is occurred to me that Tzaangors my be the ultimate way to kill a culexus.

The Tzaangor weapon rule reads like so "Each time you select a target for this weapon, you can ignore the Look Out, Sir rule. Each time an attack is made with this weapon (including when firing Overwatch), an unmodified hit roll of 2+ is always successful." and the Culexus defense rule reads " When resolving an attack that targets this model, the attacking model is treated as having a Weapon Skill and Ballistic Skill characteristic of 6+.". SO it seems to be that the Tzaangors can snipe the Culexus on a 2+.

What do you guys think?

From what I can gather, yes the Tzaangors would reduce their BS to 6+, but would still hit on 2's anyway, as their rule is "a hit roll of 2+", not "count their BS as 2+".

Seems like they hit on a 2+. As Valkyrie says, their special rule doesn't actually care what their BS is, they just always hit on a 2+ anyway.

This situation is clarified in the Rare Rules section under "Attacker's Priority". The 2+ to hit takes priortiy:

ATTACKER’S PRIORITY
While resolving attacks, you'll occasionally find that two rules cannot both apply — for example, when an attacking model with an ability that enables it to always score a successful hit on a 2+ targets a model that has an ability that states it can only be hit on a 6+. When this happens, the attacking model’s rules take precedence.

If attacking model and target unit have conflicting rules, the attacking model’s rule takes precedence.

That rule isn't actually relevant here. The two rules don't conflict-but the end result (hitting on a 2+) is correct.

It should be noted, Enlightened actually have a BS of 3+. Their Greatbows hit on a 2+ regardless of their BS, so any modifications to that are irrelevant when shooting with them.

Ok thanks guys, seems to be a general consensus on this. A neat ability these guys have.
