With the latest changes to the Tyranids, I've been wracking my brain how to make them a tad more competitive. One of the ideas were the sporocysts.

If one takes a hive fleet with a 'territorial instinct' biomorph and three of these, you could start the game off with several objectives with a tough, cheap ObSec model. If you also took Zoanthropes, these guys would even have a 4+ invulnerable save first turn. The enemy would have to deal with these guys, and they have some of the best point-per-durability in the 'nid codex.

Has anyone tried this? Is it a good idea, or is it nuts?
