We've known for a while now that GW has ended support for legends rules and never intended to make them a permanent part of the game or keep them up to date. And now we have official confirmation from GW that those rules are no longer valid for use in 40k. From the made to order announcement for the DKoK grenadiers:

heavy flamer team wrote:This single resin miniature is a fantastic addition to any Imperial Guard or Death Korps of Krieg collection. There are no rules for using it in games of Warhammer 40,000, but it will make for an excellent painting project, a great component in a larger diorama, or perhaps as a stand-in for another unit – just be sure to clear it with your opponent before it hits the tabletop!

melta and heavy stubber wrote:These resin miniatures depict two Death Korps of Krieg Grenadiers – one with a meltagun and a second with a heavy stubber. The meltagun-wielding miniature can be used as part of a Death Korps of Krieg squadron, forming the core of an Astra Militarum army, ready to capture objectives and fight to the last. While there are no rules available for the heavy stubber-wielding Grenadier, they are nonetheless a fantastic addition to any Imperial Guard or Death Korps of Krieg collection. Either model would make for an excellent painting project, could be used as components in a larger diorama, or perhaps as stand-ins for other miniatures – just be sure to clear it with your opponent before it hits the tabletop!

All three of these options had legends rules that are, as of today, no longer valid and given the fact that no errata to the legends document was issued to remove those specific units the only conclusion is that legends rules as a whole are no longer legal for use in games of 40k. I doubt this will have much of an effect as most people had already unofficially decided they were no longer allowed in their games but there it is, no more disputing that those rules are gone.

I will continue to use all of my various legends units for as long as I have them(I'm not getting rid of them any time, ever). So this will continue to be a non-issue for normal people.

The Legends documents are still online, and there has been no announcement saying that they are no longer valid - the CSM was updated as recently as July, in fact.

While I think saying "no rules in 40k" is pushing it, I can understand not wanting to confuse people - though, at that point, you should be saying that about all three weapon options, as there is no option for a Grenadier with meltagun in 40k, by that standard.

This is, emphatically, why I will continue suggesting nuking Guard and starting over again. It's a legacy army that needs to be rebooted with a new focal point.

Confirmation of why no-one should listen to Kanluwen when it comes to the IG - he doesn't want the IG, he want's Kan's New Model Army...

Both you and whomever wrote that are factually incorrect.
FW Legends PDF, p.37 & p65, Troops (DKoK Grenadier squad) it costs +10 pts.

Hmm, once again, factually incorrect. again, see P.37 & 65 of the FW PDF concerning the DKoK Grenadier squad ....
(I'm sure no one will mind if you have a twin barreled Heavy stubber that has the RoF of a single barrel)

There is no dispute because you are currently wrong on this.

BTW, the last time any of the 40k Legends were updated was 19/07/22 - when they amended the Chaos SM Lord to be able to purchase his jump pack. In response to everyone howling about the option being removed from the codex.
