Hello all! I've been a fan of 40k for over 4 years. I love kitbashing and converting whenever I have free time and almost all of my models are now modified in some way! Dakka has always provided me with inspiration for my next mad creation so I thought I would join in and finally show some of my models to hopefully inspire others to the converting cause. Here is a current project I'm working on - An Imperial Guard regiment inspired by both the Tallarns and Colonel Sarren's 101st Steel Legion from the novel Helsreach. All models made using DKoK parts, old Cadian torsos and Afghan Warriors from Wargames Atlantic, with some LoTR models and random parts from my bits box mixed in. The Mounted Primaris Psyker is made from the Venerable Thaumaturge model as a basis as well as many miscellaneous parts on top. Here is my Company Commander inspired by Colonel Sarren:

And here are a few characters including a Priest, Bound Psyker (Counts as Primaris Psyker), and an officer I'm either going to use as an Officer of the Fleet of Master of Ordnance:

Command Squad:

And with Colonel Sarren:

And finally my mounted Psyker conversion:

Apologies for the poor quality of the photos.

"I have seen war in all its forms. I have seen feral world savages braining each other with stones, and I have monitored the death of a whole planet at the hands of a virus bomb. I have seen Space Marines drop to certain death, and win. I have seen Titans crush whole platoons underfoot. But there is no more stirring sight in war than the charge of massed cavalry." - Dravin Gratz, 14th Tharinga Regiment.

Hello again! Here are a few models I made a few weeks back. An Ordo Sicarius Inquisitor and his retinue - I may add some more models to the group if they fit the theme:

And the Inquisitor himself, made from a Crooked Dice Vlad's Army miniature, an old Cadian laspistol holster and a pair of feet from a LoTR Haradrim Warrior:

And now the second member of the retinue, the Inquisitor's personal Astartes bodyguard from a chapter I haven't yet decided on. He is made from Primaris legs, Mk7 torso and arms, a Space Wolf chainsword and the head of the old metal Chronus model:

And the final two members of his retinue, a bound/penitent psyker and a weary Imperial Guard veteran - Veteran is an unmodified Mad Larkin from the old metal Gaunt's Ghosts models, and the psyker is based on the body and arms of an Afghan Warrior from the Wargames Atlantic Afghan Warriors kit with a respirator and a 3D printed headpiece:

And finally a Culexus Assassin I made quite a while ago; Most of the parts are either really obscure or 3D printed. He wears the battered skull of a Khornate Bloodletter to intimidate his foes. He has been mutated from prolonged contact with the forces of chaos (Hence the feet and the need for a bionic limb):

Once again, apologies for the poor camera quality.

Also, any ideas on character names or the Space Marine's chapter are much appreciated.

I'm currently working on some Imperial Guard Storm-Trooper conversions (Count as Tempestus Scions) from Solar Auxilia - I will hopefully upload some images tomorrow.

Thank you for the kind words, the Inquisition are easily my favourite faction as there are just SO many conversion opportunities. I've done conversions for so long now that its become a habit; I cannot seem to be able to leave a model as it is!

Hello again! As promised, I'm going to start by presenting my Solar Auxilia Inquisitorial Stormtrooper conversions, made using Solar Auxilia bodies and weapons with all insignia removed and Haradrim Warrior heads from LoTR:

A pic of just the Sergeant:

And a thematic shot:

A Witch-Hunter Inquisitor with a Stormtrooper suit, armed with an Inferno Pistol and a holstered Laspistol. He is made from the body of a kneeling Solar Auxilia and parts from the original finecast Witch-Hunter model:

And the Witch-Hunter with his retinue:

And finally, a few imperial operatives including an Arbitrator and two Death Cult Assassin conversions. Arbite made from Necromunda enforcer parts, a Solar Auxilia head, old Cadian command squad respirator and a LOT of purity seals:

Currently in the process of making some acolytes for my Ordo Malleus Inquisitor in Terminator Armour that I will be uploading photos of in the near future.

Hello all! Today I modified my Ordo Malleus Inquisitor in terminator armour and replaced his over-sized power axe with an ork power claw (Counts as a power-fist). I've been tweaking him for the past year - He looks significantly different from the original conversion. He was made from a basis of Inquisitor Lord Hector Rex and many other terminator parts including Cataphractii terminator arms and many parts from the Grey Knight terminator kit. He is holding the skull of a decapitated Necron:

And an atmospheric shot (As usual ):

Now onto something I've invested HUGE amounts of time, effort and money into - My growing true-scale Grey Knight army, to be used alongside my Inquisition to provide some much needed punch. I still have half a dozen left to convert. All models made from Katafraktos models from Tortuga Bay Miniatures and Grey Knight terminator parts, as well as some more obscure bits thrown in here and there. First up, my Apothecary:

And with his personal sword-bearer serf:

Up next, my Grey Knight Standard Bearer, made from many obscure parts and 3D printed pieces:

And a normal Brotherhood Terminator:

And compared to my true-scale Space Marine conversion:

And a Missionary/Preacher conversion based off the old metal Brin Milo miniature:

And finally, a group shot:

Any questions or constructive criticism are much appreciated .

Thank you! For a while I had the old Gaunt's Ghosts models lying around so I thought I may as well convert them. Glad to hear that my creations look suitably grimdark, as my aim is to create a gritty, realistic but also a very much 40k aesthetic.

Great stuff. I love the use of the ork power klaw for the inquisitor, it makes him look brutal but also tells a story. I know what you mean about having to convert. You just want to make it your own right? The classic metal sculpts I can just enjoy painting, but plastic should be chopped up at every opportunity.

That banner pole is sick btw

Thank you very much! I think now I have reached the point where I'm finally happy with the Inquisitor, has has gone through hell and back converting-wise, originally armed with a scythe, then a sword, then a power-axe and finally a power claw!
Agreed about plastic models - With so many spare parts left over, you can't really go wrong coverting them. However, my need to convert has become so strong its even spread to metal models!

Thanks for your compliments on the banner, it took me ages to get right, and the aim was to make it look covered in trophies and chaotic appendages kept from infamous enemies.

Hello again! Apologies for my lack of updates, I have been quite busy recently. However, I managed to find some time to do some converting. I still have lots of WIP models, but these have been my biggest and most recent project - My Inquisitorial Stormtroopers. All models made from Solar Auxilia bodies as a basis, Afghan Warrior heads and bits from the old Cadian command squad (Such a good kit and such a shame its no longer produced by GW) as well as some other bits thrown in if they looked good enough . First up, my Tempestor Prime:

And, obviously, a thematic shot :

Second, his personal Command Squad:

The special weapons trooper and servitor:

And the medic:

And with the Tempestor Prime:

Third, the second Inquisitorial Stormtrooper squad:

And just the Sergeant:

And lastly, all my Stormtrooper models in one photo:

Feel free to give me feedback!

Thank you! I tried an assortment of flags and banners before settling on the flute/pipe (?) and it seemed to fit much better. The servitor counts as a heavy flamer Stormtrooper, but I mainly chose the model to tie the Stormtrooper Section together with the rest of my Inquisition. The meltagun is from the DKoK special weapons kit from FW.

Hi all! Here is a recent project I've been working on for a while - Loyalist (Maybe, maybe not) Alpha Legion. This is my first conversion for what will hopefully be a warband with other Astartes and some human agents. He is still very much WIP, and I may still add some details and cloth made from tissue paper soaked in PVA Glue and I still need to drill the gun barrel. The main parts used are Terminator bits, mainly from the GK Terminator kit, CSM Raptor head, Primaris and Firstborn parts, as well as other bits, including the sword and right shoulder pad from the Phobos Librarian:

And a size comparison with one of my Inquisitorial Stormtroopers:

Any comments are much appreciated. I'm currently working on some agents to follow him around, do his dirty work and infiltrate into particular areas more effectively than a hulking Astartes .

Hello again! Small update - An Eversor Assassin that will most likely be used this weekend in a battle I'm organising. Will provide some much-needed distraction from my weak characters and will probably survive quite long and wreak some havoc in the process . He is made from a basis of a SM Sniper Scout, with an AoS Flagellant arm, a metal arm I found in my bitz box, a skull cut from a Death Guard backpack, and part of a SM power claw, as well as some greenstuff - He is still WIP, as I may add some more details and tweak him until he looks perfect:

And TWO thematic shots (I'm getting carried away ):

And a size-comparison image with one of my Inquisitorial Stormtroopers:

Any feedback is much appreciated! I will make him suitably gory when I paint him to emphasise his role as an infantry killing machine

Hi all! This is a fairly big project that I've been working on for the last two days - A female Inquisitor inspired by the art for Lilith Abfequarn who features in the Ravenor novels and the Gaunts Ghosts series. She was made mainly from the SoS kit, a LoTR elf, and a head from some unknown model I found in my bits box, to name but a few of the parts. She is posed drawing her laspistol:

And here is a conversion I bashed together earlier today - An Inquisitorial Stormtrooper armed with a shotgun that I will probably use as a veteran or an acolyte for one of my Inquisitors. He was made from Solar Auxilia legs, metal SM pauldrons, an Afghan Warriors head (SUCH a good kit!), and a SM scout shotgun:

And, of course, a thematic shot:

Lastly, the two of them with one of my normal Inquisitorial Stormtroopers:

Any feedback is, as always, much appreciated!

Hello! First day back from holidays and already converted two models I was thinking about during my time off. First, an Inquisitor of the Ordo Machinum (The order who oversee the Adeptus Mechanicus), made from mostly FW parts of the Myrmidon Secutors/Destructors kits and a 3D printed arm - He was originally a Techpriest conversion I made a while back but wasn't happy with. He is still WIP as I may add some more small details:

And secondly, a Knight Centura for my SoS, made from the body of my female Inquisitor conversion - I wasn't happy with how she looked (Not grimdark enough for my taste). Her HUGE greatsword is from the Inquisitor Lord Hector Rex model from FW. She is also still very much WIP:

Any feedback is very much appreciated as always!

Hello again! It has certainly been a while!! However, I have been doing a lot 40k-wise, so I thought I'd better show that off. I instantly fell in love with the look of the Primaris Heavy Intercessors when they were released, and, after much deliberation, bought the kit (However, £40 for 5 models is hard to justify ). I have always loved the old SM Tyranid Hunter models - They had SO much character and their lore was awesome - So I decided to convert the Heavy Intercessors into Tyrannic War Veterans. The look and style of the Heavy Intercessors just seemed so much more elite than normal Primaris, so converting them to Tyranid Hunters made perfect sense to me. Additionally, I had already converted up an Inquisitor, who needed a retinue, so I made him an Inquisitor of the Ordo Astartes - Very fitting imho, and the Tyrannic Veterans made a perfect bodyguard. The presence of the Inquisitor also shows the Veterans' sheer size and raw power. So here goes, and up first is my Tyranid Hunter Sergeant:

And the second Tyranid Hunter, heavily inspired by the original sculpts:

And the Crux Terminatus denoting his Veteran status:

And the heavy weapon bearer, armed with a Heavy Bolter (Or the Primaris equivalent ):

And a normal Veteran:

And my usual cinematic shot:

I love this guy's pose:

Group shot of the whole squad:

GK Terminator Chaplain I converted a while ago who I decided would fit better leading the Tyranid Hunters:

And the Ordo Astartes Inquisitor - I love how simple yet characterful he looks:

Lastly, the ultimate scale shot of the Inquisitor and his Ultramarine retinue:

I've also got some smaller conversions to show as of yet, but this is more than enough for today. Comments much appreciated as per the usual!

Hi all! Recently inspired by John Blanche's Vostroyan artwork, I couldn't help converting some characters - Namely a Commander and his axe-wielding bodyguard. The non-militant Sister conversions were long overdue, and I felt the old Sister Hospitaller miniature needed a bit of an update. The Sister-Chatelain of the Orders Famulous was heavily inspired by Indomitus, where Sister-Chatelain Aures is a secondary character in the plot. I also threw in a servo skull I recently put on a base, just to provide some grimdark! First up, a thematic shot of all the characters together:

And just the Commander:

His loyal bodyguard veteran:

And both together (With the servo-skull thrown in!):

Now onto the Sisters! First up, my Hospitaller conversion:

And finally, the Sister Famulous:

Any questions about parts used or feedback is, as always, much appreciated!

Just been looking through your models, you have some pretty neat conversions!
Unfortunately you have some tiny photos that are hard for me to see but that doesn't stop me from looking forward to seeing more of whatever you do!

Thank you! I am as of yet unaware on how to enlarge my photos, but am looking into it as another user has had a similar problem .

It has certainly been a while! However I have still been converting in my time between exams and have completed a project that has been on my mind for months - The hunt for the perfect scale for truescale Astartes has finally (I hope) ended! I have used a mixture of components from the Assault Intercessors kit and Tortuga Miniatures terminator parts to create some well-proportioned and suitably large marines that are fairly simple to reproduce as I am planning to make some more in the foreseeable future, though don't quote me on this as - Knowing me - I may well have moved onto another project in the meantime . Tis the malady of the wargamer! Anyhow, onto the models - First on the spotlight is my first truescaled marine - My Librarian:

Second up, the squad:

And a size comparison with a firstborn marine from AoBR:

And the squad with the Librarian:

Lastly, a smaller project - An undercover Sister of Silence:

And, as per the usual, any C&C and questions are much appreciated!
