What is everyone's thoughts on the new Bound Daemons rules? Personally, I'm mixed. I like the new different sub-factions, but the rules for the regent and Ka'bandha seem underwhelming. I hope the official codex rules are much better.

I think it's a mistake to try and find out what Bound Samus is suposed to look like via image search

Overall I'm relatively happy with the Brute rules.

The good -

I5! Very nice! I was not expecting that.

The emanations are small bonuses but most have use and will only get better with the full list. Also allowing each unit to pick a different one is fantastic flexibility

S 5 T5 and 3W give the brutes some survivability, especially with 4+/5++ and 6+++ with that one sub faction pick for 40 pts a model isn't bad at all!

Regent for 130 pts rocks a fairly good statline and will do well in praetor duels.

The middling -

Lack of brutal on Samus or Ka'bandah kinda hurts. I dont know why a dreads fist remains among the deadliest melee weapons next to Lords of War

WS 4 on brutes makes me a little sad, but I do prefer I5 over WS5 for mauling any non teq

50mm base. IT's always been a thing but it's going to hurt.

The bad (in my opinion)

Murderous strike 5+ but rending 6+. This feels like they should be the other way round, it's going to suck to have a 5+ to wound, but AP3 weapon so the tasty ID attack bounces.

The worst thing is the absolute agony of waiting for the full ruinstorm after this taste of Diet-Daemons

Reckon anyone would be too bothered about using mid sized daemons to represent brutes of the various gods? Or some AOS models. I reckon these things would make perfect slaneshhi flavoured brutes. https://www.games-workshop.com/en-AU/Hedonites-Of-Slaanesh-Slaangor-Fiendbloods-2020

The Ruinstorm list is designed to be used with a wide variety of models representing all sorts of Daemonic entities that formed during the Ruinstorm. All the profiles are very generic in their naming for that very reason so players could use a plethora of models to represent their army.
You could use anything from the FW Brute models to stuff like this:

I'm personally planning on printing of few of these. I'm excited to summon some of these with Lorgar's special rules.

With that in mind, is there anywhere I can look to figure out the proper base sizes?

Ask yourself: have you rated a gallery image today?

The Ruinstorm Brutes come on 50mm bases as per the Forgeworld website, other than that i have no clue.
