Ok, I am a huge Aliens fan. Last played 40k during 7th edition.
Looking at getting into 10th with new Tyranids.

Using the deck plate bases.

Should I do a dark brown/ bronze or pink/black look?

Go with the black and purple .

I am also going to be getting my first 40k figures with 10th edition release (just doing FEC for AOS at mo)

Maybe we can brainstorm!

I prefer the black and purple from the two above….

Of the two, I'd go for black and purple/pink. The brown/bronze has too little contrast on it, it will look pretty monochrome on the tabletop.

Go purple but replace black with bronze. Best of two worlds

I think I’ll go with traditional aliens from aliens movie.

Prime black, dry brush with dark brown with small brush, medium brown dry brush with medium brush, highlight with light brown. Silver teeth & claws. Gloss sealed. The bases will be boarding action & contain rusty, silver, & other colors. Tyranid glands will be the acid light green. It’ll look good.

Might use metallic bronze as a step & dark brown ink to bring detail out.
