That's alot more fleshed out than I expected. Free beta rules, online army creator, full armies in metal. And alot more variety in factions that I was expecting too. Impressive!

I do like the stretch goal miniatures.

Nice to see more new sculpts.

Seems to be a mix of materials for the miniatures.Metal, plastic and thermoplastic..

The move away from metal miniatures seems to be a growing trend.I can see why with the rising costs of metal along with postage costs.

The system has been in the market for quite a few years already and has managed to gather quite a lot of praise. This KS seems to be just another channel of distribution.

Indeed (regarding that it's not a brand new unknown game but rather an established one). I took a look at it years ago but 15mm isn't my preferred scale so haven't followed it closely since.

1st Edition was a lot of fun, but LOTS of rules. Beautiful books, solid miniatures, and game set that I feel represents the battles of the 1650s quite well. My preferred force is Cossacks, but I am slowly building up a Polish-Lithuanian force...something this project will kick into overdrive.

I am sorely tempted to use a bunch of the Joan of Arc board game minis to improve the Ottoman forces of Mehmed IV as well...

Urusei Yatsura, Cerebus the Aardvark, Machiavelli, Plato and Happy Days. So, how was your childhood?

I haven't looked closely at the rules yet. I hope they are not too overwhelming to deal with.

2nd Edition looks to be a good upgrade in rules and more streamlined

also looks to be a good option to be used for the warlord epic models as multi-bases are possible (they just have the smaller bases to make it easier to use different sized units), if one just wants to go for the rules

one thing is that they are switching materials and the core box won't be metal but thermoplastic and I guess the other forces will follow later

I have a lot on my plate financially at the moment, and want to support this and the company, but I may need to purchase it later upon release. My friend and I definitely, for sure what to play it after it hits the online store.
I'm just not seeing any value in the stretch goals. It is possible that is because I do not understand the rules fully, but I would think some metal order tokens or faction dice
would be a lot more fun of an incentive than single models that don't seem to do much in the game. (Minis like "angry mob 1." We do not get a unit of them, so what
function does it serve beyond decorative?

As far as I understand the special commander models are exclusive to the Kickstarter and the special models got a rules preview here

You might be-able to put in a low amount then add to it when the pledge manager comes out.
