Moreso than ever in the past, you can't put this game down for ten minutes without being left behind.
I have the 9th edition ork codex and more models than you can shake a squig at, but zogged if I know what else I need to actually play any more! It's been about a year.
Please can someone in the know help me!

Just for clarity, that's a new version of 40k, not of any of the files beast just linked to. We're expecting quite a bit of news about it next weekend, from Warhammerfest.

The new edition of Warhammer 40k will literally be previewed on the coming weekend, and will probably be released in about 8-12 weeks time, invalidating most (all) current documents. The good thing for you is that once that release is done, you will get by with the basic rules and the free army lists that will be released alongside it. The only thing you might want to have in addition will be printed datasheets, which will release as cards for a 'cheap' price according to GW.
So i'd recommend not buying anything right now, and at least waiting for the big presentation on Saturday.

Thanks all! I'm looking forward to 6th 10th edition coming out, got a game on Friday so I'll need to brush up on what I'll need for it this week!

Agree with the others, unless you are really itching for orks now, wait for the new edition. Otherwise beast_gts's response got you covered.

7 Ork facts people always get wrong:
Ragnar did not win against Thrakka, but suffered two crushing defeats within a few days of each other.
A lasgun is powerful enough to sever an ork's appendage or head in a single, well aimed shot.
Orks meks have a better understanding of electrics and mechanics than most Tech Priests.
Orks do not think that purple makes them harder to see. They do think that camouflage does however, without knowing why.
Gharkull Blackfang did not even come close to killing the emperor.
Orks can be corrupted by chaos, but few of them have any interest in what chaos offers.
Orks do not have the power of believe. |

Yeah.
When the new Edition Launches, everyone gets their army rules for free, which will stand until the relevant Codex is released.
Given the current Codexes are lighter than previous on background, I’d hold off entirely.
