Enamel washes are a great tool. The problem im having is that im start to forget about the rest of the tool box!

The downside is you kinda want to use it on everything.

Surprised I haven't seen this before now. Very cool!

In fact, enamel washes are the best thing, IMO, to use over acrylics. Just make sure the acrylic is COMPLETELY dry!

They protect very nicely, and there's no danger of messing with the underlying paint job.

BTW, very nicely painted mini!

First, all means to conciliate; failing that, all means to crush.

Yeah, enamel and oil washes are wayy suoerior to acrylic washes. I don't undestand why anyone would bother with acrylic washes after trying em out

1: Don't have enamels or oils to make a wash from.

2: Don't have the appropriate thinner to make the wash from.

3: Don't have a well-ventilated area for using said thinners safely.

4: Too young to use said thinners safely unsupervised.

Whereas if you have acrylics and tap water you can make a basic acrylic wash in perfect safety.

Having said that, yes, enamel and oil washes can deliver superior results once mastered.

I also use it on everything, got a matte and a gloss enamel wash and use the matte for all skin and the enamel for all metals (or when tyranid, for the entire tyranid lol)

They look great.

Army Painter Quick Shade is the best "wash" I've ever seen. And that's coming from someone who uses 99% oil paints for everything (and I mean everything).

The only problems with it is they only come in shades of brown and you need to give them a coat of matt varnish afterwards because it's super shiney. On the positive side, it's also super tough (i.e. protective).
