I’m hoping somebody might be able to help with how to go about getting something close to the effect on the box art of this Dr Fate miniature by Knight Models. It’s the NMM for the helmet, breast plate and boots I’m struggling with. I gave it ago and really messed it up so I want to strip the mini and start again. I’ve got next to no experience with NMM and have followed some basic videos but even now I get the basic principles I don’t know where to start with which colors I need for this green effect. And should I start dark and work my way up to light or go the other way around? Grateful for any tips of tricks

In general, you want to start with your mid tones. It's always a nightmare trying to build up from darks to lights.

I would personally start with a blue green basetone, the. Add the brown metallic shades into it. Alternatively, and an easier method for a beginner might be to do the nmm effect, then glaze greens into it. Either way, if you can't do nmm, simply saying doing nmm is no easy feat. You may want to practice and refine the technique before coming back to a model you want to do to a high standard.
