An issue I constantly seem to have when modeling is my eyes becomes unfocused and I can’t make out the small details on tiny parts. I was wondering if anyone who has a similar issue could recommend a magnifying device that would help me overcome this issue..

I just started using reading glasses. That solved the issue fairly cheaply.

You looking for a desklamp/mag combo, or a goggle headset type?

Micromark sells two really nice desk lamps with magnifiers built in. I have model number 88821 and it lets me paint without my glasses pretty well.

+1 for reading glasses (mine are +3 but choose a setting that works for you)

I recommend reading glasses over magnifying devices since IME reading glasses retains depth perception best. Back when I used other types of magnifiers, they always ruined my depth perception completely, which is not a desirable aspect when dealing with 3D objects

"The larger point though, is that as players, we have more control over what the game looks and feels like than most of us are willing to use in order to solve our own problems"

I use a mag/lamp desk combo.

It took some getting used to. Banging the back of my brushes against it, getting the angle right, etc. but I can’t paint without it now; so useful.

I forgot who made this one. I was sent it free to review. Works pretty well, but there are a lot of similar ones out there.

If you need magnification, you probably also need more light. Something to keep in mind.
