Warzone is BACK!

I received my Warzone Eternal minis and started painting...

Warzone Eternal

Being an old Warzone fan since its original release, I backed their Kickstarter out of pure nostalgia.
I recently received the first miniatures, and I have to say — I’m quite happy!
The minis are every bit as good as modern ones but still retain that distinct Warzone feel.
They’re a bit on the chunky side, yet they have a modern touch while staying true to Paul Bonner’s classic artwork.

The casting is done in a slightly soft and flexible material, which is both a blessing and a curse.
On the downside, you can cut it easily with a sharp hobby knife, but filing doesn’t really work.
On the upside, it holds its shape well and feels very durable — almost immune to damage from falling or rough handling.

A lot more pics on my site: https://adpublishing.de/html/warzone.html (incl. a brief history of 30 years of Warzone!)

And my old 1990s minis: https://adpublishing.de/html/1990s_warzone.html (still proud)
And Prods: https://adpublishing.de/html/2010s_warzone.html

More soon!

Nice! I'm impressed they kept the original look but made the poses so much more natural. Can't wait to see more.

Thanks!

Here we go, the always asked for scale comparison:
Warzone 2nd edition plastic Trencher, Prodos Capitol trooper, Mödiphius Legionnaire and the new Warzone Eternal Hatamoto.

The Mödiphius Siege of the Citadel mini actually fits quite well — even the bases are the same size! Unfortunately, the minis are of rather poor quality and suffer from some noticeable scale inconsistencies.

What did you think of this 'snap tray' business?

The thing about 40k is that no one person can grasp the fullness of it.

So far no real opinion, since I only got two starter sets from the KS!

Automatically Appended Next Post:
Hi again! I’ve started working on my Brotherhood force. During the Kickstarter, I went for Mishima and the Brotherhood — each with a starter box and an extra squad: the Shinobi and the Mortificators. Here’s my first finished Mortificator

Always been a fan of the Mortificators over the life of Warzone. This one looks great. Did they update Crenshaw?

Not yet!
Bear in mind that the KS just delivered the 1st wave of minis.
2nd wave will follow soon.

Two ancient Undead from the 1st edition. Most sculpts from that era were rather rough, but these still hold up well compared to more recent models.

And together with two minis from the Mödiphius range:

And the Brotherhood!

“Dominus Lumen, Nos Ferrum!”
“The Lord is Light, We are His Sword!”

My Brotherhood starter force from the Kickstarter - a fully playable 30 pts force. (40 pts is the default game!)

The Fury Elite was a challenging miniature — I got a pretty rough cast, and the sculpt itself isn’t the best (uneven shoulder pads, odd details, etc.).
Still, I’m quite happy with how it turned out! ?✨
EDIT: After a short discussion on the Warzone Eternal Discord channel, it became evident that the sculpt is perfectly fine – the uneven shoulder guards are intentional, meant to honor the original artwork!
So kudos to Warzone Eternal!

One thing I loved was all the Dark Legion zombies were clearly wearing uniforms from other factions. Just something else to insult your enemy.

The new Brotherhood look great.

The Fury did come out looking cool. Nice minis in the Brotherhood starter. Makes me nostalgic for all the other versions.

Thanks folks!

Brotherhood Archangel Pilot ”The Wing of the Light” - The miniature was a Kickstarter bonus!
I will use it as an objective marker.

Pilot looks great, I remember the long white hair from the old rulebooks, sort of an angelic look for him.

Looking at the Fury, the white armor guy, it might be that the left shoulder pad is supposed to be a bit thicker and heavier since a right handed guy would presumably have his left shoulder facing the enemy when he shoots. IIRC old marines had a studded left shoulder for the same reason.

A real blast from the past!

Valerie Duval is a renowned Etoiles Mortant of the Bauhaus Corporation. Born into a noble Bauhaus family, she was raised with strong ideals of honor, discipline, and duty. Drawn to the spiritual and martial traditions of the Etoiles Mortant, she joined the order and underwent its rigorous training, becoming both a formidable warrior and a dedicated protector of humanity.

For me she was getting really famous in the 4 issue Golgotha comic!
