I would love to be able to say it was one or the other. However, that my friend is the honest to goodness Australian prices for that particular MTO. Unaltered by man or god(-emperor).
They were genuinely asking $50AUD for a single trooper.

Steel Legion have been my dream Imperial Guard army for many years now and I was genuinely prepared to drop entire paychecks in order to get myself a platoon or twos worth. Didn't end up getting a damn thing.

I was the same - some things were cheaper on eBay (UK)! If they did a Catachan MTO I might pick up a few things.

Nice to see them coming back, even if only for an MTO. Loved the Medusa V campaign from way back.
Lets see if the prices for this are as insane as that last Steel Legion MTO.

In the last MtO, weapon teams were expensive and single models obscene. Squad was okay and the platoon (back then with the casualties) even a bit cheaper than the (identical) release box! And I got my order after a few weeks and not half a year later.

I'm not sure that steel legion from years ago is really a good indicator of the price these might be, as that seemed to be a strange exception to the usual sort of MTO prices considering they were more than stuff like classic Space Marines have been.

I hope I can buy 1 vostroyan sniper. They look (to me) like how I imagine a Terran Vindicare would look (for HH).

Like the metal Cadian Snipers(but not the Catachan ones), Vostroyan Snipers only come in packs of both models.

Looks like they're going up for order on Saturday: https://www.warhammer-community.com/en-gb/articles/9idi5uub/sunday-preview-march-out-with-the-cities-of-sigmar/

The officers, special weapon troopers, and heavy weapons teams will be separate items of a single miniature each. That's gonna cost a lot.

The good news is people can choose which officers they want, as opposed to being stuck paying an arm and a leg for a bundle of models when they only want one or two lol

It looks like they're not releasing the full range, its missing the Sgt. pointing with las pistol in other hand, the 3x casualties.

Which is a shame, because they aren't actually selling any sergeant models on this round. I noticed the platoon is using the junior officers as sergeants.

I wonder if the original master for the Sergeant has been lost or damaged. He seems an odd omission otherwise.

Id love to buy one squad to be veterans for the Valhallan Ice Warriors.

But TBH, there are so many amazing 3d printed alts out there that unless i can lay my hands on some original Vostroya, i prob will just get a 3d printed lot

I may pick up the special weapons boys, as I already have a platoon and love the special weapons guys. But not at the aussie prices.

I've also had success using the cadian bodies mixed with Anvil Industries bearskin heads. They come out okay and look similar enough (or like Vostroyans who have shed their greatcoats). But for office minis and HQ it's definitely a must have for the old metal minis.

Might be the sign of me aging and buying into nostalgia, but the alternatives i have found are either worse in the detail department, even though the sculpts are more current (les grognards for example) or STLs that are lacking charm that the originals have. Dunno
It’s going to be pricey, but I’d rather have less of what I like more, than more of what I find lackluster.

I know what exactly you mean; I just tracked down a 1987 Astropath model simply for the old school charm & aesthetics when a plastic Inquisitor henchman from the current box would have done the same job on the table.

You have to remember that dude has both a power sword AND a bolt pistol. You're not going to get that kind of power on a regular $10 guardsman.

Wargames Atlantic's Grognards aren't an exact match but pretty close.

Well, today we find out. I hope it’s not completely insane pricing. I would really like a squad or two for a mixed Guard regiment just for fun. If it’s somewhat fair I might consider the Platoon box or 1 squad, command squad and the special weapons guys. I guess I know in 7-8 hours. Haha

Looks like they're slightly more expensive than the Steel Legion MTO was.
I absolutely love these models, but I'm glad I don't collect guard. This makes me fearful for when stuff I actually want comes to MTO.

How is it that GW can sell a Tomb King Necrotect for €12 but ask almost three times as much for a single special weapon guardsman?

Bit pricier than I was hoping but they're also some of the best models GW ever produced. Brilliant style.

Oof, yeah, I might have to cut some fat off from my initially planned order.

Platoon
Squad
Snipers
3 heavy bolsters
3 mortars
-£351

If they included 1 of each weapon teams in the platoon, it’d be way easier. But I guess they did that in purpose.

Could it be a word that rhymes with creed

To be fair, the main reason I own a Necrotect was to get to the free shipping minimum. Luckily, GW has that covered now; it's difficult not to get free shipping on these.
