Between the release of New Quarter 7, Origins, and random
buzzings on the privateer press boards, there's a lot of information out
there about the August release, Superiority.

From the original post by Jollix and various clarifications spread
throughout that post:

Character solos (released at Origins)

Cryx (Bane Lord Tartar Sauce): An attack that hits all models in his
forward arc. Models he kills are replaced with Banes (either flavor,
I think). Weaponmaster.

Cygnar (Rambo). He's cheaper than the Gun Mage Captain Adept,
and his abilities seem geared toward helping Trenchers. His DEF
goes up when he's on the move, and he can promote a Trencher
to sergeant in case they lose the Sgt. Poster implies some melee
special abilities and other things.

Khador (Fire it up!). He has more "leadership" type abilities. The
post mentions promotion like Cygnar's solo. He can promote
someone to be an officer. However, another poster implies that his
abilities affect Winterguard only. Also, he has speeches or songs or
orders or something that affect Winterguard.

Protectorate (Batter-up!). Weaponmaster, FLying steel AND
Reach. Hubba hubba. He improves paladins and allows you to field
another. I'm not sure if his stances replace stone and mortar, but he
gets a few new ones that sound like they'll help him survive much
more than Stone and Mortar does.

Sweet....

Cavalry information is from No Quarter #7.

Let me see if I can sum up the information there. They're going to
be fast and hard hitting on the charge, with your normal plethora
of special rules as befitting the different factions.

Speed.
These guys run fast at 16" and charge 11". They're on large
bases, so it'll be tricky to maneuver them around your troops, but
they have the benefit of being allowed a 5" coherency so that they
can keep a wide formation and thus go around your troops without
wasting movement or denying themselves charges.

Mobility.
They have a ride by attack. During their movement they
can declare their combat action at any time. I'm not sure if this
means they can use the lance and the inherent benefits of those
lances (see below) but if you have a ranged attack then they can
use that ranged attack to jump ahead, shoot, and retreat.

Charge.
The models with lances get reach when they charge (in the
case of Superiority, only Cryx does not have lances). When they
charge, the horse makes impact attacks on every model in melee
range. If they clear a path the cavalry can continue movement up to
its final target. And (this seems unclear in the article, but I think they
meant that this special ability is when cavalry charges), they can
use their mounted height to attack through smaller based models
(which includes your own!) and "can ignore models that don't
have larger bases than the target" (quoted as I'm not quite sure
how these two rules are different). After they charge they switch
from lance to melee weapons

Toughness.
Cavalry are multi-wound models with a base armor
akin to that of a light jack (though I think Cryx is lower).

Faction specific abilities (oh yes!)

Cygnar Storm Lances
They get an electro lance that can fire a short range energy burst. If
they move, however, damage goes up! And with an order they can
zap models standing between two Storm Lances of the same unit
(I'm not sure if this means any two or all of them. If it means all
Storm Lances, then you can create a nasty effect with triangles. If
it means a line between any two, then it's still nasty, just not so
much).

Cryxian Soulhunters:
They don't have lances (and thus, don't benefit from reach) but their
scythes get a charge damage bonus and the sickle heals them d3
damage when they kill living models. When they kill living models
they also gain soul tokens that can be used like warjack boosts.

Khadoran Uhlans:
The magazine describes these guys as some of the best bred/trained
mounts, so their impact hits (see above) have higher damage,
have critical knockdown, and can attack without charging (I think
these warhorses bite and kick whereas the impact hit of the other
cavalry represents a slam). The Uhlans' lances are blasting lances,
which we assume means they have critical knockdown, but it's
never stated in the article. They do say that it's more powerful. And
like sword knights, they benefit from what I call "Ghetto Shield
Wall" which is +2 ARM when in tight formation.

Protectorate Vengers
Glee!
If you kill one (and remember, this is a multi-wound Menoth
model), then the rest of the unit can charge across rough terrain
and obstacles for a round and gain ARM/STR bonus. The lances
are blessed like Knights Exemplar's, and so they can hit Incorp
models on the charge (yay!). AND when they have to fight, they
get Weaponmaster with their swords.

If you want to see more in-depth descriptions of how these might
be used, pick up NQ7.

Sweet. Any indication of unit size (min/max)?

Guinness: for those who are men of the cloth and football fans, but not necessarily in that order.

I think the lesson here is the best way to enjoy GW's games is to not use any of their rules.--Crimson Devil

For the most part I live in the Cygnar Tactics section and love some of th advice I have found there.  All and all I do spend a lot of time just surffing the boards on the forum.

NQ section is ok but only when someone posts an extra.

But as it goes it does a good job of supporting the hobby.

PP understands customer relations, and not just the "fork your monety over" type....or replace the model type. ALL types.

Hope more old fools come to their senses and start giving you their money instead of those Union Jack Blood suckers...
