1st obvious observation.... You have 1 too many elites.

2nd obvious observation... BOY those are small squads.

3rd obvious observation... BOY that's a juicy HQ for only having 6 bodies in it.



Drop some of the bells and whistles on the command squad. Everyone wearing articifer armor is really wasteful of points, and won't help you one little bit against the ever popular las/plas and power weapons/fists. Use the points saved to beef up some of those squads a bit.

Also, make some of those p. wep sarges into p. fist sarges. It really does make all the difference in the world.

Simply I don't like it. It doesn't have a Dark Angel feel which the Angels of Vigilance are a second founding of. You should be thinking about Space wolves or even Black templars with a list like this. I also agree with KiMonarrez on his observations and I would be smiling If I saw this list lined up against me.

So what you should do (if you intend to continue with Angels of Vigilance):
- drop almost all the upgrades on the command squad
- drop venerable dred (I personally don't like them) & use those points to beef up yac squads
- take some shooty las/plas tac squads or at least flamers/heavy bolters

Actually, the Dark Angel successor chapters would be

the Angels of Vengence
the Angels of Redemption and
the Angels of Absolution


So they're a DIY chapter that's somewhat low on warm bodies.

What KiMonarrez said is actually true. In my fluff this is all that is left of the once great Angels of Vigilance.
so I should drop the venerable dread, add, what, 2 space marines to each tac squad and change power weapons to power fists? I should be able to post my 'revised' list in a few hours (need to mow the lawn, ect, ect).

May I suggest some traits? Heed the Wisdom of the Ancients, See but Don't Be Seen, Eye to Eye, Have Faith in Suspicion. Just run a lot of eight-man PF/pg/hb or lc infilrating troops, dreads and pred as-is - maybe venerable on the dreads to make up for AV12, possibly soem missile launchers in lieu of dccws/tllcs - and a 5-man devastator squad with boltguns for pushback. What everyone else says about the command squad - those are six power armour guys that cost the same as ten terminators!

Muuuuuuuch better. Now just lose the pintle stormbolter on the pred, exchange that for some smoke launchers on the dreads, and you're lookin pretty good.

In terms of the list, get more marines.

Its not very mobile either, and not really very shooty if youre gonna keep it static, and once the pred and the lascannon dread is gone you really dont have anything thats all that good at taking out tanks, (assault cannons are not too reliable), I would try to get some rhinos maybe and another pred, or maybe drop pod some things, something to make it more mobile because when I see 35 or so marines with nothing more than bolters and 1 plasma gun walking towards me, Im gonna be a happy person, and youre never gonna get a shot off.

Oh, and also a little point of etiquette. If you're playing a 1500 pt game... one should try to keep the total for the army equal to or less than 1500. It's bad form.

If you're bent on an expensive HQ, why not go for a Terminator command squad?
