Hey guys,
I've heard that there is a picture of some converted Warp Spiders in the new WD. Has anyone a clear shot of it? It would be really appreciated.

If I were to take pics with my camera, would GW representatives show up at my door with a supena?

Are you making a profit by doing it?

Besides... once they sell it to you, you can do just about anything you want with it.  You can cut it up.  You can put it on your wall.  You could wallpaper it.  You can take pics of it.  You just can't SELL those pics of it.

Assuming you are refering to copyright, he can't copy it without permission - profit and selling is neither here nor there.

He can cut it up, put it on his wall, but technically not take pics of it.  Some jurisdictions have 'fair use' laws which may allow some forms of personal copying.  Distribution of those copies would not likely come under fair use.

That's right up there with all the copies I made of musical albums I've bought. My friends sometimes listen to those copies when I'm driving.

Is that copyright infringement? Methinks not.

Don't want a discussion on music copying, but..

Copying of legally purchased music for personal use would likely come under various guises of 'fair use'. Making photos of the WD piccy might? come under fair use - 'I wanted a copy for my wall but didnt want to cut my mag'.

Distributing said piccies or copies of music is a copyright infringement.

I'm not aware of any law requiring you turn of your music if someone else happens to be able to hear it.

(I aint a lawyer, seek proper advice if you want it)

PS I'm not a fan of current IP laws, but they are what we have at the moment.

In those countries that have such a 'fair use' clause in their copyright laws that applies to back-up copies of music discs, yes.

Again, in those countries that have such rules, applying to printed material. The rules for music and the rules for printed material are not always the same.

Distributing said piccies or copies of music is a copyright infringement.

Yup.

Having said that, we see scanned pics from White Dwarf online all the time. It's generally not worth GW's time to do anything about it.

I've got a picture of it... it's in the magazine I paid good money for.

They really aren't anything special, basically plastic guardians with the metal shells from the warpspider exarch. They also use shining spear heads. In the back of the white dwarf they list the bitz used, and hell, they are WAY too much work, WAY to many bitz, and really not that much snazzier then the OG warpspiders.

Clicky link picture.

Come on guys, its just basic level HTML. I really don't see why everyone complains so much about the editor.

Ok, try to edit what you just posted then. Then you'll understand why we complain about the editor.

Done. I still don't see what the big deal is. I click edit, click the HTML tab, and I see this:

I don't doubt that people have trouble with it, but I have yet to have trouble making a post that was not simply ignorance of how to use the editor on my part. (Not to diss anyone, I've been plenty ignorant about HTML in the past myself!)

It's weird. That's NOT what I see when I try to edit a post with
html in it. I can fix stuff since I know it, but it took me a while to realize that
the editor was converting stuff to bbcode for some reason. Very odd.
Hmmm...maybe all is well.

Ok, try this.

Code a link, text only, that leads to a site like yahoo and submit it. Wait
two - three minutes, say, and try and go back to edit it.

When I did it with the img tag inside the link tags it returned normal
code. When I did it without it returned some bizarr-o stuff.

Well, there've been times (plenty of them) where I wanted to go back and edit a post that had HTML in it... and the page just wouldn't load. I mean, like 5-6 minutes later... and it still wouldn't finish loading.

Other times, text just flat disappears after the HTML portion, even in HTML tab.

It just acts silly and squirrelly, and I hate it.

And, yes. It is all Malfred's fault.

Interesting, When I quote your yahoo link I initially get:

a target="_blank" href="http://www.yahoo.com(/img)Yahoo!

with a preceeding < and square brackets around the /img tag.

Freaky.

So, I get it now. Weird stuff.
